Revenge? | M.R
Plot: Your bf cheats on you, what happens next 🙀
(TW: NSFW) >New series for this! <
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was preposterous. Absolutely unbelievable. You stood there watching as your boyfriend- soon to be was ex making out with the girl he told you not to worry about, which of course you obviously should’ve.
Your blood boiled as you walked up to him, grabbing him by the collar and ripping him away as roughly as possible. You weren’t just mad, you were furious. How could he do this to you? “You fucking pussy. You quite literally could’ve just ended things with me you prick. I’m so done with you.” Not giving him any more chances or pity apologies you walked away, once out of the room you ran to your dorm.
Later that night
A much needed crying session later you heard a harsh knock on your door. Without getting up or knowing who it was you whispered a charm and unlocked your door, to your surprise it was Mattheo Riddle. “Y/n, you do know there’s a such thing as a silencing spell, don’t you” His eyes had a piercing gaze for a moment before he finished examining you, his face fell slightly yet he fixed his demeanor, slowly stepping inside and closing your door.
“Either you’re blasted, or you were crying, so which one is it.” He said blatantly sitting down on a chair near your bed. “Fuck off Mattheo, you don’t even talk to me” You flipped over in bed, annoyed at the unwanted intrusion of your privacy. “If you didn’t want me in here you wouldnt have opened the door” He sent a small smirk your way despite you not being able to see it. “In my defense I didn’t even know it was you”
You both sat there in silence before you reluctantly turned back over to face him, “Why haven’t you left yet” You sighed deeply rolling your eyes looking at him. “If you’re really just gonna be a bitch I can leave” He rolled his eyes in return, beginning to stand up. Without thinking you held your arm up grabbing his instinctively “Don’t go, I’m sorry.” You quietly apologized causing him to slowly sit back down.
You removed your hand from his and to break the awkward silence you spoke, “My boyfriend, well I guess now my ex boyfriend cheated on me. I literally caught him making out with her openly in public” I scoffed still dumbfounded as to how oblivious I was. “What an ass. I’ve seen him, you’re too hot for that anyway”. His words made your cheeks blush slightly so you attempted to hide it by stretching.
“I just can’t believe he played me like that” I looked back at him, “You know, we could get some revenge and have some fun” He winked at you and smirked. “And what exactly would this revenge entail?” I cocked my eyebrow at him curious yet intrigued. “Well we could act like we’ve been dating this entire time, pretend we’re finally ‘going public’, and by that I mean we full send it by making out in front of Parkinson and tell her skanky ass we’ve been together so she can spill it to the entirety of this school.”
To say I was shocked was an understatement. I mean the plan obviously needed some major readjustments and we’d need to come up with a story but it honestly could work. “Are you gonna say something or am I just gonna sit here and look like an idiot who came up with an awful plan” He shook my head in his hands catching my attention.
“Yes.” I looked him in the eyes. “We could make out tomorrow then, but you know, I could use a bit of practice” he said nonchalantly , you were still making eye contact so there was no way for you to ignore this, your face was getting hotter by the second, no telling how red you were visibly. “Come on sweetheart, I have a feeling you need the practice too, don’t you?” He smirked.
No thinking needed you just nodded your head yes, and just as thoughtless as it was for you to nod your head, he immediately launched towards you and connected your lips. A soft moan left your lips as soon as you felt his tongue enter your mouth, attempting to fight for dominance in the kiss and failing miserably. His hand came up and softly squeezed your throat causing another soft moan to escape, you covered your mouth instinctively but he ripped it away replacing it back with his lips.
Keeping a grip on your neck he parted your legs with his left arm and rested his knee between your thighs, purposefully rubbing against your heat. More small moans were coming out and you could feel him getting hard against your stomach. He leaned closer to your ear, kissing and nibbling a bit before whispering, “Be careful amor, if you keep moaning like that I might just have to fuck you already”
His knee never stopped rubbing against you, and you were more turned on in this moment than any time with your ex. You didn’t want this to end, even if he wouldn’t continue with your plan afterwards. “Then do it Matt, Fuck me.” You looked at him and gave the best fuck me eyes You could. With zero hesitation he yanked your pants down discarding them across the room followed by your underwear. You started quickly taking your shirt off as he himself got undressed.
All of this happened in what seemed like under a minute, before your lips were back attached to eachother and he was rubbing his tip up and down your soaking entrance. “Fucking hell Y/n, I knew you were hot but I didn’t think you’d have this pretty of a fucking pussy” He began to speak but it turned into more of a moan as he sunk himself deeper and deeper into your dripping cunt. “Fuck, and you’re dripping” He moaned once fully inside.
You couldn’t help but let out a loud moan, needing to adjust to the big size. He looked so hot above you too, especially being able to see his abs from your angle “Oh my god! Please keep going” You looked at him, already needing and begging for more. “Shit you’re so perfect. I’m going to ruin this fucking pussy” He whispered the silencing spell quickly before he began to harshly pound into you. Louder moans than before began filling the room as his aching dick fucked in and out of you.
He pulled out and got off of the bed, yanking you to the edge and flipping you onto your stomach. “Put your ass up for me princess” He smacked your ass harshly making you moan, a soft chuckle leaving his lips at that. You were scared he might’ve wanted to do anal, yet you obliged nervously arching your back. Without warning he slammed into you, definitely hitting your cervix. A pain and pleasure induced moan left your lips and that only fueled his fire.
He kept going at a relentless speed, your eyes began rolling back and you couldn’t hold back any noises even if you tried. You felt yourself starting to unfold, your stomach tying in knots as your release inched closer. “I’m so fucking close Mattheo fuck fuck” You could barely get your words out, they were more like whimpers and screams. “Cum all over my dick, I’m not done with you yet” He slapped your ass which sent you over the edge.
You were seeing stars, your body was beginning to shake as he pounded into you, his arm reached under and began rubbing over your previously teased clit, it was already swollen and sensitive and you couldn’t control anything. Tears started to roll down your face as you came all over his dick, tightening around him making him moan more and more.
Your body collapsed down but he picked you up by your hips and kept going, his thrusts got slower but they were still deep and consistent. The overstimulation was driving you insane, it was something you didn’t know you needed. He pulled out and flipped you back onto your back. “If im going to cum, and if it’s going to be because of you, then I need to see your gorgeous face and these amazing fucking tits” He smirked at you and slowly thrusted back inside of you before grabbing your boobs and putting your left nipple in his mouth sucking and pinching the other.
Your walls clenched around his dick once again, and you felt another orgasm coming, this time it was more bearable yet you were still so overstimulated and turned on you were a moaning mess. He started speeding up and picked his head up to look at you, his hand stayed on your boobs massaging them and pinching your nipples but he was close. Even though it’s your first time together you could tell.
His thrusts were getting sloppier by the second, he threw his head back moaning and throwing around curse words, with a few more hard thrusts you felt his thick cum coat your walls and as he pulled out slowly the warm substance dripped out slowly. “Fucking hell” You sighed completely laying back exhausted. “So, we still on for the plan?” He winked.

Tumblr media
After too many dates, too many studying sessions together, and in general too much time spent together —even with his group of friends— you feel like this is a relationship that simply hasn’t been named, yet. Something about everything doesn’t feel like just sex and hate.
You’re fine like this, for once believing you can let loose a little and still do well in your studies.
Haechan, instead, thinks his plan is going amazingly. He knows he has you distracted, he knows he takes away your time, and he knows everything is technically perfect. But the plan is not the best made of his life, and the more time passes, the more he forgets about it, and the more he thinks about you.
He never planned to use you, that had to be clear. He just wanted to distract you with sex —something you both wanted to have— and give you a boyfriend experience so you could write the song in the best way possible. But in doing all that, he is more caught up in you —and not only because of the plan, he is just caught up in you— than in his studies.
It’s nine pm on Sunday after he dropped you home around four pm this afternoon. He made you meet his girl friends too for lunch and then you went back to his place to stay together for a while. But even if you spent almost the entire day together, he still misses you.
He rolls on his back as he goes into his contacts to text you again, he doesn’t have to scroll down, you’re second on the list since he last annoyed you forty minutes ago but you still haven’t replied.
haechan: can you answer me?
haechan: i miss you : (
haechan: you didn’t even let me eat you out
haechan: you looked so pretty in that skirt i think it looks better with my head underneath it
haechan: fuck and now i’m hard thinking about you
mortal enemy: the only hard thing should be the books you should be studying on, remember we have a test tomorrow?
“Fuck,” he screams, sitting up. “What?”
He never forgets these things. He always writes them down in his agenda that he maniacally reads every day to make sure he’s always on time with his studying schedule. He can’t have forgotten about it. But, apparently, he did.
His thumb quickly wipes to call you and your answer doesn’t let him wait.
“I’m studying,” you huff annoyed as you pick up his phone call right away.
“Why would you go out with me if tomorrow we have a test?”
Your chuckle reaches his ear through the phone before he gets to hear your voice again. “Why not?”
“Don’t you want to be the top one? What about your grades? This adds up for the finals.” Panic fills his voice, he’s hoping you remembered just now and haven’t been studying since you went back, but you’re too relaxed for that to be true.
“Yeah, I know,” you reply, too calmly for his liking. Was his plan working? No, because you knew about it. And he completely erased the test, too busy thinking about you.
“And you go out?” He asks again as anxiety starts to take over him.
“Why would I lock myself up before a test? It’s not even that serious. There’s the topic you pick, and then like four questions that will surely be the main things we discussed in class, Professor Kim only knows one way of making tests.”
He groans, he can’t believe you’re always so ahead of him. “How do you know these things?”
“I use my brain,” you reply nonchalantly.
“So you started studying… when you got home?”
“Last week.”
“Last week? Are you kidding me?” He screams so loud that he’s sure you have to move the phone from your ear.
You sigh, rubbing your temples, Haechan knows it, you always do that when he pisses you off somehow. “You didn’t open the book at least once until now?”
“I…” I would usually read through the notes at least once a week, but I’ve been too busy. “I’ve… I read the notes, until some weeks ago. I got busy, okay?”
“Were you perhaps distracted by something Hyuck?” You ask teasingly, and he can see you twirl the end of your hair in your fingers while your tongue pokes at your cheek.
“Nothing distracts me,” he mutters, frowning even if you can’t see him.
“Then hang the call and try to read the notes at least, I’ll send you the recordings of the lessons, play them all night maybe something will stick to your brain.”
“Okay, bye. Wish me good luck, please,” he says, and you chuckle. “No seriously, don’t manifest against me, I need all your good energy.”
“I will, Hyuck. Just give it a quick read and then try to get as much sleep as possible. You have a brain and you’re smart with it, it’s better for you to be active tomorrow than force information that just won’t get in, alright?”
He hums, weirdly feeling a bit calmer at your words. “’kay, goodnight, babe.”
“Goodnight.”
Haechan sighs, slumping on the bed, boner long gone and anxiety on his chest, until the screen lights up again and a few messages from you show up.
mortal enemy: 10 audios + 10 files ‘music theory notes’ sent the audios anyway but my *perfect* notes should be enough to not make you pull up an all-nighter also don’t stress too much, I appreciate the act of chivalry to make me top this class grades again :;
He forgot about an exam, he didn’t study for it, yet he’s smiling like an idiot because of you.
Haechan’s screwed.
Tumblr media
“So, how did it go?” You ask, blocking Haechan as soon as the bell rings and Professor Kim dismisses the class, letting you know the results will be in next week.
Haechan glares at you, and you suck your teeth. “Come on, it wasn’t that difficult,” you say, sitting on his desk, as he looks for something in his bag.
“I did great, I just don’t want to admit your notes are perfect and were enough to save my ass,” he says, and you can’t hold back the smile.
“You’re welcome,” you say, standing up and kicking him playfully with a swing of your hips.
“Hey! You could’ve made me fall,” he jokes, grabbing his bag before taking a step back so you can lead the way out of there. “And thank you.”
You chuckle, lowering your head to hide that dumb grin on your face. “You know, I wanted to ask you why we never revisited music theory but I thought you wanted to do it on your own, maybe you were scheming something against me.”
“What? I would never scheme against you,” he says as you start walking to lunch.
You stare at him with a raised brow, and he huffs. “It was in the past and you did it too. Also, what would I scheme?”
“I don’t know, maybe you sneaked into his office and stole the test to already know the answers?”
“That would be cheating, not beating you. There’s no fun in that,” he says, holding the door of the cafeteria open for you.
“You’re such a fair rival,” you joke as you head to the buffet to grab something to eat.
“Wait,” he stops you when your plates are full. “Why don’t you sit at our table? I hate seeing you eat alone.”
“Have you ever considered I can’t stand how loud your friends are?”
“Oh come on, you already deal with them when you come to my place.”
“Exactly.”
Haechan huffs, standing in front of you to stop you from going toward your table. “We can go to yours today.”
You furrow, lightly tilting your head to the side. “We don’t have anything to study.” You try to decipher his expression and think if you could get so distracted to forget something you had to work on or revisit.  “The song?”
He shakes his head. “I might…” he pauses, trying to find a way to say what he wants to say that’s not so humiliating, but then he gives up with a heavy sigh that rolls from his lips. “Okay, I need help.”
“You?” You scream, attracting some attention on you, and Haechan glares at you, pulling you to the sides so that the curious gazes can linger away from you.
“Yes, me,” he replies through gritted teeth. “It’s just a small thing, but I don’t get it.”
You smirk smugly and he rolls his eyes. “Fine, I can’t wait to tutor you,” you reply, starting to walk to his group of friends’ table.
“Why can’t I ever win with you?” He whispers, shaking his head and following you.
Tumblr media
You’re not sure Haechan told you the truth. He is smart but he isn’t the best actor ever, and when he came to your place to try to understand that small thing he didn’t understand in sociology, you were pretty sure it was just an excuse. You explained it in less than five minutes, he got it too quickly and immediately started messing around.
You don’t mind it, though. You enjoy spending some time with him. He’s a good distraction. Surely you would’ve fixed some notes or listened to some lessons instead of… well, instead of being on his lap with your fingers in his hair and his hands on your ass, grinding on him.
You hold in a moan when he concentrates on your neck, kissing, biting, and sucking the spot that makes you shiver. And you’d like to go on like this, but you need more. So you shift on top of his thigh, while yours presses against his hardening dick and makes him growl.
“What are you do—”
“Shh,” you shush him quickly, pressing your thumb on his lips before replacing it with your lips. “Ouch,” you gasp when he bites on your lower lip. “Why did you do that?”
Haechan chuckles, shrugging before leaning close to you again. “Why not?”
You frown but have no intention of carrying it any further. You can feel your panties stick to your skin and you just want to come, not really caring if it’s just like this.
But the moment of intimacy, if you could call it that, gets interrupted by the buzzing of his phone in his pocket.
“God, just answer,” you yell when Haechan ignores the third call but whoever is on the other line has no intention to stop trying.
Haechan rolls his eyes as his right hand leaves your ass to search through his pocket and huffs annoyed when he sees the name on the screen.
“Jaemin, what?” Haechan groans as you keep moving on his thighs, ignoring his deadly glare. “No, I’m busy.”
You faintly make out an angry reply from the other side, but you don’t care enough to understand what Jaemin’s saying.
“No, I can’t go out with you.”
“We can,” you reply loudly enough so that Jaemin can hear while Haechan scowls at you again, muttering a scold under his breath, but his anger is quickly addressed to his friend on the other side.
“Yes, I’m with her,” he huffs, rolling his head back, trying to stop your movements but failing. “Don’t ask questions. And yes, fine, fine.”
When he hangs the call after mumbling a quick, annoyed goodbye, you chuckle. “Thought you didn’t want to hear my annoying friends?” It’s all he asks, leaving a small, teasing slap on your asscheek.
“What were we supposed to do? Stay inside all day?”
“Yes, we have everything here,” he says, spreading his arms to point around. “And you’re still grinding on me.” He looks down, eyes narrowing as he stares at your hips.
“I’ll finish and then we’ll get out,” you wink, starting to move faster but he has no intention to get back into the mood, not yet, at least.
“You’ll stain my pants and where do I come?” He huffs, and you’re sure he’s trying to find an excuse to don’t go outside rather than one to don’t fuck with you. He would never say no to that, especially when you two are already in the middle of it.
“Take them off,” you urge, jumping off him, waiting for him to get undressed as you do the same, your panties the only thing staying on.  “Come on. You don’t want to be late.”
Haechan groans, “you’re so… so greedy. You just want everything.”
“Yeah, am I allowed to have one flaw?” You bat your lashes at him, grinning when his eyes roll in the back of his head. “Oh, will I stain the underwear, too?” You ask when his lower half is completely bare to your eyes.
“Honey, I’m not coming inside my boxers, can’t wear your panties to hang out with the boys,” he says annoyed.
You chuckle, climbing on his thigh again, watching him whimper when your bare leg brushes against his dick and you press on him to be as close as you were before.
He doesn’t know why you didn’t take the panties off, but he knows he doesn’t want them there. He wants to feel you on his skin. As hot as this is, he wants to feel your pussy drip down his thigh, and your panties are stopping the full experience.
“Oh, for fuck’s sake, Donghyuck!” You scream when the sound of the fabric ripping hits your ears and the chill air of the room hits your warm core.
He groans. “It’s so hot when you say my real name with an angry tone, makes it hard to hold back fucking you.”
“You need to stop ripping my stuff,” you complain, trying to hide how hot you found that, the ripping of the panties and that fucking smirk on his face now that he lays back against the headboard of your bed, so proud and snotty that is hard for you to hold back fucking him.
“Shut up, you love it,” he says, pulling you into a rough kiss, pushing your body closer while his hand rests on your hips to guide you in the movements. “Also they weren’t a good pair, if you were in lingerie I would’ve asked you politely to take them off.”
“You will never see me in lingerie,” you retort, pulling away as your hand sneaks down and starts moving up and down on his throbbing cock.
“Fuck,” he groans, “at least warn me?”
“I’m half naked, grinding on top of you and I have to warn you when I grab your dick?” You ask. “If you don’t want, I won’t make you come.”
“No, just —fuck,” he glares at you when you concentrate on the tip, “don’t be a bitch.”
“Sorry, sorry,” you chuckle but still move your hand quickly, following the steady rhythm of your thighs. Your head rolls back when one of his hands creeps under your shirt and cups your boob, his thumb brushing against your hard, sensitive nipple.
Haechan sucks in a deep breath when your thighs start shaking around his and your cum drips down his thigh. “Fuck,” he moans, eyelids fluttering as he looks at you, head reclined back as you hold onto him with only one hand, the other still busy taking care of him. “This is so hot, you are so hot.”
The compliment pushes you closer to reaching your high and when he lifts your shirt to wrap his lips around your sensitive nipple, you lose it.
You whimper and quiver, hips moving messily as you keep riding your high, breath getting stuck in your throat when he accidentally bites you as his orgasm washes over him unexpectedly.
“Fuck, sorry,” he mumbles, and if you weren’t still so lost in your pleasure you would let him know you liked it.
When your hips still, and the dizzying sensation calms down, you lay your head against his shoulder for a while as his arms wrap around your waist.
“Can we stay in?” Haechan pouts when you try to get away from him, reaching for your hand to keep you next to him before he rolls over when you shake your head and jump off the bed. “Please.”
“We can’t always fuck and study and study and fuck,” you reply, cleaning yourself up, holding in a sigh when you realize he stained the cover of your bed with his cum.
“Who said I want to do either of those things?” He says, looking up at you with puppy eyes, pushing his lower lip out to pity you.
“I know you,” you reply, glaring at him before pulling your pants back on, not even caring about putting on another pair of underwear, you would’ve had to wash all those clothes anyway after taking a well-deserved shower, but for now you only had to pick some clothes to go out with the boys.
“No, let’s stay in and, I don’t know. Should we sing?” He proposes, jumping on his feet and putting his discarded underwear on.
You laugh, staring at him in shock. “You want to sing?”
“Yeah, you have a guitar, right?”
You nod, turning around the corner where your guitar is.
“Don’t you want to hear my angelic voice?”
You take a deep breath at his brag and then exhale loudly. “But Jaemin?”
“Fuck him, I don’t care,” he says while a small victory grin already starts widening on his face. He knows you’re about to give in.
You huff, rubbing your temples and giving up fighting him when his fingers are already typing on the phone to tell his friend you two can’t come anymore.
When he puts the phone away and smiles at you in anticipation, you sigh. You really are stuck with him, aren’t you?
“Why don’t we prepare biscuits?” You suggest. You wanted to bake something for a while now, but you never really find time to dedicate to the kitchen.
“Biscuits?”
You nod, stealing his sweatshirt to wear on top of your shirt before walking to the kitchen —that space you consider the kitchen.
“I’m a mess when it comes to cooking, you know, right?” He confesses as he leans against the countertop, watching you move around to grab all the ingredients and tools you need.
“You? Admitting you’re bad at something? To me?” You ask with a teasing tone, but you’re genuinely surprised he let you know without turning even this into a competition.
He fakes a laugh. “Very funny,” he says. “I just don’t want to hear you complain if I make some mistakes and ruin your perfect biscuits.”
You chuckle. “Can you weigh the ingredients and then put them all in a bowl?”
“All at the same time?”
You nod, handing him what he needs and showing him where the scale is. “Is not that hard, even you can do it. Plus, it will be another thing I teach you today,” you wink.
“Careful, baby. Don’t start thinking you’re so much better than me,” he says, starting to weigh the ingredients and putting them in each separate bowl.
You scoff. “Honey, I won’t start thinking that,” you say, resting your head on his shoulder, “I already think that.” You leave a teasing kiss on his cheek before he hits you with the flour and you gasp.
“Oh, no, we’re not doing that,” you warn, taking a step back, seeing how he’s ready with another handful of it.
“Then take it back,” he says nonchalantly.
“I never take back the truth —oh, Jesus Christ, Donghyuck!”
He laughs loudly, bending forward as he glances at you, flour on your face and well, his sweater. “Don’t call my name like that again, though. I won’t resist this time,” he says when he finally stands up and stands right in front of your face. “Now, will you take it back?”
“Never —Ah!” You scream when he lifts you up without a warning and sits you on the table before he starts tickling you. “No, no, please,” you babble, shaking your head and trying to stop his hands on you but he’s faster. “Okay, fine, I’m not better than you — I’m not better than you!”
“Good,” he says, stopping his torture and smiling proudly. “I love it when you listen,” he jokes, kissing you again.
You should hate it —or at least don’t like it so much— when he kisses you like this, out of nowhere, for no reason at all other than wanting to shut you up, or maybe to feel you. But you truly don’t mind. Actually, you lean in for another one, and another one and another… until you feel this is once again going in another direction and, as much as you’d love to indulge in the moment, you want to prepare those biscuits.
“Enough,” you say, pushing him away and jumping off the table. “No more food waste and we’re doing this together.”
You discover you and Haechan work better in the kitchen than in other fields, maybe because there’s no tension pushing you to do better but you are listening to each other, teaching tricks, and simply having fun. And this atmosphere stays with you even when he grabs the guitar and starts playing the tune of your song, you sing some bits of the lyrics and then jokily propose to add some about baking cookies on a cloudy spring afternoon, expecting him to laugh at it but he just smiles and tells you to go on. And you do, mumbling something about being in the kitchen, humming, baking, and laughing. You think it’s too cliché, and you will surely go back to it obsessively until it comes at you like you want it, but he loves it.
Then the oven rings, signalling the biscuits are ready and none of you can believe they came out good, nothing burned, and they’re tasty. Somehow, those cookies, feel like the biggest achievement you two ever made together.
“Maybe we should stop fighting each other,” he mumbles, after chewing his last bite. “We make a pretty great team.”
You smile, cleaning your lips with a napkin, crumbs falling on the table. “Hate to agree, but we do,” you say. “I mean… we kinda teamed up months ago, don’t you think so?”
“We want to kill each other, and you call that teaming up?”
“It’s our way of teaming up,” you reply, handing him a clean napkin so he can clean himself, and he takes it. “We just like to keep the flame alive, if we stopped bickering at all, it wouldn’t be so funny.”
Haechan shrugs, he guesses so. “Not like anybody else ever stood a chance with us on top.”
You chuckle. “Imagine if someone is using our rivalry to get to the top and we never noticed them.”
“Honey, trust me, I would’ve noticed.”
Once you’re done eating, you push him into the shower. There’s flour, and dough on all your clothes, and you still need to wash off the sex of before. You’d opt to shower separately but you’re tight on water and you have to make the best out of the confined space, reason why his plan to fuck another time fails.
“Why are you wearing my pink robe?” You turn around two seconds to grab the towel you prepared for him, and he betrays you. “This was for you,” you say, holding up the white towel as you stand there naked.
“I already put it on, it’s wet,” he says. “Come on, it’s pretty.”
“Yeah, that’s why is my favourite robe,” you pout, but still wrap the towel around you because you don’t want to freeze.
“I’ll make it up to you,” he says, and, before you can even think how, you don’t feel the ground under your feet anymore. Your arms immediately wrap around his shoulders for more safety as you let him carry you outside. You have no idea what is going on today, but you like this, how he’s taking care of you —in his way, of course— and how this feels good.
“You have to change it anyway,” he says when he drops you on the bed and, as soon as you open your mouth, he knows you’re about to complain about the wet towel on the dry covers. “I’ll help you change it later.”
While you change into your new clothes, your pink pyjamas with small black hearts as a pattern, you watch him walk around as if he’s so familiar with the place —not that it would take much for anyone to know where everything is, considering how small it is— but something about it makes a feeling of comfort and warmth spread in your heart. Nobody else had ever been inside that place.
But then you snap out of it and realize he’s naked, and his clothes are dirty, so you rush to the closet to find something to give him.
“So, mhh,” you say, making the things you grabbed fall in front of him, who’s sitting at the table. “I have those sweatpants and a sweater, or these pyjamas if you want it, it’s pink, but it doesn’t look like you care much,” you note, looking at how much he’s rocking your robe.
“Pink pjs! We’ll match,” he says, eyes lighting up as he wastes no moment getting out of the bathrobe.
“Out of the kitchen!”
“There’s not even a wall?”
“Still, get out,” you say, pushing him with force away from there. “Better.”
He rolls his eyes but still grabs the shirt and pulls it on him, blinking when he sees a pair of clean boxers. “Why do you have these?” He still studies them, thinking he has seen them before.
“Because they’re yours,” you say nonchalantly while fixing your hair in a braid.
“They’re mine? I left them here?”
“I might’ve accidentally dragged them with me once,” you confess, looking at him with a big, awkward smile.
“When?”
“When Jaemin almost pushed the door down and we had to rush to get dressed. I just stuffed everything in my bag and your underwear was next to mine so, ta-da,” you say, stretching your arms and shaking your hands to complete the sound effect.
Haechan sighs, nodding. “Of course, it must have been because of Jaemin, somehow.”
“Well, it turned out useful, just put them on. I don’t want to see your dick more than necessary.”
Haechan scoffs and bites back a comment as he finishes getting dressed. “You have to admit I look really good in pink.”
You look at him up and down while he twirls, and you smile. “You would be my favourite Barbie at the mall if they sold you in boxes.”
“God, you’re so annoying, can’t ever make normal compliments,” he complains. “Come on, help me with the bed. It won’t clean itself.”
Making the bed with him is tiresome. His weird way and theories about making it lead you two to bicker more than you should and remake it twice to see who is right —you, obviously. So, once you’re done with it, laying on it with him by your side, you know not even God himself will make you stand up to cook dinner. You don’t need to say a word, Haechan already has his phone out ready to order, and you couldn’t be happier.
You spend ten minutes deciding what movie to watch and another five bickering because you don’t want to eat on the bed, but he insists you won’t make a mess, and if you do, he will help you clean up. It ends with you giving up and the bell ringing with your order ready.
You never have nights like this. You always try to cook on your own and don’t waste money on eating out, and you also never finish the movie or the series you start, either too tired halfway or with something more important to care about, for example, some notes to copy, or lessons to listen.
But this is nice.
You two joke, laugh, eat, and then you start to feel the sleep take over you, and you don’t think about sending him home or falling asleep on the pillow.
And as you rest your head on his shoulder, Haechan’s more and more sure that his plan failed.
Tumblr media
“You’re playing with me, right?” You ask when Haechan messes up for the nth time. The end of the year is approaching, and you two are getting ready for yet another test, the last before the finals, but right now he’s testing your patience not getting a single answer right. You’ve been stuck in his room for hours now.
“I wish I was, my brain is fried,” he huffs, throwing his head back on his chair.
You’re speechless and you shake your head. “It’s super easy, you were better than me in this class, what the fuck is wrong with you?” You snap.
“Hey! Why are you so pissed? Shouldn’t you be happy you’ll beat me even in this?”
“Be serious,” you say, sending him a deadly glare. “What are you thinking about?”
“I’m…” he huffs, shaking his head, and turning around in his chair to avoid you. “I’m just stressed for a lot of things. I’m tired, I didn’t sleep tonight.”
“You struggled even last week. And when the Professor asked you something in class you gave an answer that is just not you,” you say, cutting off his bullshit, grabbing the armrest of the chair, and forcing him to face you with a rough tug on the chair.
“There are too many things to remember,” he says, after frowning at how harsh you have been. “It’s not that I don’t know, it’s that I mess it all up.”
You sigh, rubbing your temples. “Do I have to motivate you?”
He lifts his head, staring at you with a furrow. “What do you mean?”
“Let’s play a game,” you say, sitting better on the chair, and Haechan gulps when doing so your skirt —short skirt, incredibly short skirt— rises. He will never tell you, but the way you show up on your dates is another reason why he can’t concentrate. It’s May, it’s so hot. It’s your excuse, but he would bet you’re also doing it to mess up with him.
“No,” he replies, already fearing your proposal.
“Why not? You didn’t hear it, yet.”
He sighs but signals you to go on with a quick movement of his fingers.
“So, we’ll revisit once again, I’ll try to explain all your doubts. Then, I’ll ask you a question, if you get it right, I’ll take off one piece of clothes, if you get it wrong, you’ll take off one, and vice versa.”
“How studying with you butt-naked would make me learn more things?” He almost screams in a high-pitched voice.
“See!” You say. “You’re already starting with the idea you’ll lose.”
“Because I can’t get anything in my brain, and if I get it right then you’ll have to take something off and all I’ll think about will be… you.” I already only think about you, he’d like to add, but that’s too humiliating. Just like the grin on your face. He hates how weak he is. He hates how easy it is for you to win battle after battle. And he hates even more that his plan is showing flaws with each passing day. He doesn’t want you to be his Waterloo, but he’s not sure he can come up with another strategy soon enough to beat you.
“Fine, then no study-strip-poker,” you give up, but the smug smirk on your face doesn’t drop when you start to think of something else that could motivate him, it only grows bigger when you finally get it. “If you answer right to at least ten of the fifteen questions, I’ll suck your dick.”
Haechan gulps. His eyes immediately fall on your lips as his brain starts to wander on lands he shouldn’t think about, not now at least, not when he has a bigger obstacle to face if he wants to get there.
“Hey,” you call his attention, snapping your fingers and waving them in front of his face. “It has to be motivation, not distraction. Do you want me?”
He huffs, throwing his head back. “Can’t we just fuck and then we’ll start again?” He pouts like he does every time he wants something from you.
“No,” you reply sternly, stealing his sweatshirt from his chair and putting it on you. “You don’t get the prize if you don’t win.”
“That’s not fair. And why are you covering up?”
“So you can’t distract yourself,” you say. You might like to tease him with more revealing clothes, but your intent is never to get him to be this distracted. You don’t want to be the reason he will fail this last test.
“You’re not my distraction,” he scoffs, diverting his gaze, and moving closer to his desk.
You decide to ignore him, you know the truth, and as much as the idea of him starting to lose because he’s too busy thinking of you, sends you on cloud nine, you also don’t want him to do terribly, especially in a class you know he loves and is good at.
“I know the theory,” he says, stopping you from going back to the start. “I wouldn’t be able to produce songs if I didn’t.”
“Yeah, but you just failed to explain how you create and add effects, and you forgot the basic difference between the dry sound and the wet sound, so revisiting some theory won’t hurt.”
Haechan sighs but soon gives up as you hand him your notes. He always thought you were crazy for also having printed pictures of how the software works but now that he needs it, he couldn’t be more grateful that you’re so precise with everything.
You start explaining things once again, cutting short about the most basic notions and diving deeper into the last lessons, as you try to stop as much as you can to make sure he’s still following you. And, after almost an hour, you’re done.
“What are you doing?” He asks when you take off his sweater again. “What about my concentration?”
“I needed your focus while I was explaining, now you have to answer even if you have distractions.”
He huffs loudly, throwing his head back. “But don’t play dirty, you can’t touch yourself or anything like that.”
“I’m not that cruel, I just want you to answer me,” you say. “So, let’s start with an easy one, should we?”
Haechan answers the first questions with ease, not like he usually would, but it’s still better than the mess of before. And he would be so close to getting the last one that keeps him on thin ice, he only got five wrong...
“No, no, no, please,” he begs, trying to stop you in place. “Please, give me one last chance. Ask me just one last question.”
“You got six wrong, babe,” you reply, loving how he’s almost on the verge of tears as his big brown eyes look up at you.
“But it was hard, I will never remember all the types of old reverbs unit,” he whines, coming closer to you.
“Then why do I?”
“Don’t lie, you don’t remember them either, I can’t even pronounce some of those names.”
You chuckle. “Oh, it’s really funny when the lack of a good fuck gets in your brain.” It’s not about sound design anymore. It’s about the desperation behind his eyes; knowing he wants you so much even if you’re the biggest reason for his despair gets your body hot and your pussy wet.
He groans, slumping back on his chair as he gives up on you. Or so he thinks because when he doesn’t pity you enough and you’re still packing your things to leave, he’s back again with his complaint.
“Please, one last chance? I didn’t mess the others up, I just made some tiny mistakes.”
“And you didn’t answer to two,” you say, ignoring him, trying to keep a serious face to not show your true emotions.
“Do I have to get on my knees?”
You snicker. “You look good on your knees,” you taunt but you don’t expect him to do that. “Get up!”
“Not until you give me another chance,” he retorts. “Please.”
You huff, rolling your eyes. “Fine, but just one.”
He nods enthusiastically, almost looking like a puppy being teased with a treat before he sits up in front of you.
“The differences, all the differences, between the shelving equalizer and the peaking equalizer.”
“Okay, I know this one, I know it,” he says before he starts explaining without missing a single detail. “So?” He asks with eyes full of hope as if he doesn’t know he just gave you a perfect answer.
“It was… great,” you tease him but you can’t keep a straight face when you see the pout on his face. “Kidding, kidding, you answered perfectly. So, I guess you deserve your prize.”
“Yes,” he screams, and in a second he throws himself on you but you shake your head and push him back on his chair. “What?”
“You sit there and let me handle this,” you say, placing your hands on his thighs. “Take them off,” you order, tilting your head to point at his grey pants. You see he’s confused about where you want this to go, but he obeys you anyway. “Everything,” you add when he’s still in his boxers. “Good boy, come here,” you say, patting your lap.
Haechan frowns. “You said you were going to suck me off.”
“I know, and have I ever break my promises?”
“I don’t know.”
“Just trust me and come here,” you order, waiting for him to follow. “Can’t believe you’ve been this hard all this time,” you say, wrapping your hand around his hard cock, starting to pump the pre-cum that leaked.
“You teased me,” he huffs, trying to keep his composure as he watches your hand moving on him delicately.
“I know, babe. I’m sorry,” you pout, one hand sneaking under his big white shirt to tease his nipples.
“Don’t,” he mutters, but you only laugh.
“Don’t, what? Let me take care of you, you’re stressed.”
He doesn’t reply, his head falls back as your movements on his dick quicken. He feels so small in your hold and he should find this more embarrassing but he doesn’t care. He loves the way your hand wanders delicately on his body and your lips leave pecks on his neck while the movements on his dick are fast enough to give him what he wants but not too fast to ruin this moment.
Your hands keep moving while your lips kiss his neck and jaw.
“Feels so good,” Donghyuck hums, shifting in your lap.
“I told you,” you chuckle, watching him roll his head back on your shoulder as his eyes close. “The others will hear you,” you say when his whimpers get louder.
“Don’t care,” he moans. “Feels too good.”
You smile and shrug. If he doesn't care, who are you to worry about it? It’s not like they don’t know what happens between you two.
So you quicken your hand, sliding up and down his sensitive dick so fast you make him tremble in your hold.
“You’re so cute like this, you know?” You say. “You look so small and delicate.” You expect him to get mad but instead, he moans and nods swiftly. And you know that stress got him good. Donghyuck, admitting to be vulnerable in your hands? You can only thank the weight the University is putting on his shoulders. But if that’s a way to make it go away, you can’t complain.
“I’m gonna — gonna come,” he whimpers when you start rubbing your thumb on his tip. “Fuck.”
You trap his scream with your other hand, staring at him as he slumps against you as his orgasm washes over him, squirting white strings of cum on your hand and his crumpled shirt.
“Get on the bed,” you urge while lifting the shirt off his body, leaving him naked. He barely has time to put himself together, but you don’t care and you know he needs more too.
“Don’t you think it’s a bit unfair that you’re still all dressed up?” He asks, still sitting on top of you.
“Do you want me to suck your dick, or do you want me to leave?” Is the only thing you have to say to make him obey with no more complaints. “Good. You should be thankful I gave you another chance. Right now you would be masturbating all alone and have no knowledge of sound design, so… what do we say?”
“What do you want me to say? You didn’t—”
“What do we say?” You shut him up, pulling his hair back harshly as your body weights on his lap, eliciting a broken groan.
“Tha — thank you,” he mumbles, cock throbbing right against your thigh. “Thank you but, please, do something, I’m… I need you.”
You snicker, letting go of his head and crawling back on the bed. “You’re so pathetic,” you mock, grabbing his dick again. “Begging on your knees just because you wanted my mouth.”
Haechan groans, throwing his head back but the harsh slap on his thigh makes him snap his eyes open.
“Why?” He squeaks.
“Eyes on me when I’m talking to you,” you order before lowering down so you can tease his tip with your tongue, making him bite back a loud moan.
“Please,” he pleads, and you finally give in. When you take him in your mouth, the broken breath that rolls from his lips makes your pussy clench around nothing.
“Shit,” he moans, fists clenching in the sheets as you suck harder, moving your head up and down in quick movements. He wants to look at you, knowing it will be even harder to not come on the spot, but he’s fighting with so many parts of him, he doesn’t know what to do.
When you pull away to look at him, he whines, hips bucking up in search of physical contact. You snicker, “and then I am the greedy one?”
“You’ve been teasing since you stepped inside the house,” he whines, trying to grab your hand but you don’t let him. “Come on, I’ve been good.”
It’s true, he has been good, but you don’t want him to come yet. “You can’t come, not yet.”
“Fine, just — just don’t tease me. Please,” he cries, begging you with his eyes.
You start taking care of him seriously; bobbing your head up and down while your hand wraps at his base to touch him where you can’t reach. Your movements are quick, but not too messy, since you’re trying to avoid creating a pool of spit and pre-cum all over his lap.
“Your mouth, fuck,” he groans, involuntarily fucking into your throat and uttering a slurred apology. “You’re just so good. God,” he curses, and you catch him rolling his eyes. “Even at — even at this you’re good.”
You snicker to yourself and keep focusing on his dick, heavy on your tongue as you suck with force.
You might be too good, cause it doesn’t take a lot for him to explode in your mouth; a brief warning for you to choose if you want to pull away and then the pleasure runs through his body for the second time.
You barely have time to clean your chin from the cum that dripped down that Haechan pulls you close to him, kissing you intensely while his hands are all over your body. “Want you, please, please fuck me,” he begs against your lips.
You slip out of your panties, quickly grabbing the base of his cock to line it with your soaked entrance because you can’t wait anymore.
“Oh, fuck, you’re so wet,” he hums when you sink, wrapping your hands around his shoulders.
“Want to take merits for this, too?”
“Well, yes,” he retorts. “Shit, don’t move, it’s not fair.”
“Everything is fair between us,” you say, starting to pick up a rhythm that makes him struggle to come up with a snarky reply. “Loss of words?”
He groans, throwing his head back and tightening the hold around your waist. “You can —mmph— you can talk all you want but —ugh— I am the reason why you’re soaked.” Somehow the way you’re bouncing on his dick it’s not enough to wipe away that smug smirk off his face, and you can’t stand it.
“Just shut the fuck up and enjoy this, will you?” You snap before kissing him roughly, cupping his chin with force before nibbling his lower lip, making him hiss. “I like it when you moan, so please, just fucking moan. The only words I want to hear are my name and begs.”
Your “threat” is effective because he doesn’t dare to open his mouth again.
“Good boy,” you praise without ever stopping to kiss him and moving your hips at a quick but regular speed.
You quickly realize that stress has gotten to you, too. You love to pretend it doesn’t affect you, and that you don’t need to let off steam, but you do. You are desperate to feel carefree for a few moments, put all the books and papers behind and have fun. And worst, you need him.
Donghyuck is what makes you feel good. It doesn’t matter if it’s mostly physical, he takes you to another world every time. He makes you feel wanted, he puts you through the test, but he makes everything worth it.
You’re so sure of it as you let your body crush against his, your fleshes meeting in a messed-up tangle of flaws. The kinds of flaws you both grew close enough to show each other.
In a few minutes, waves of pleasure hit you both and your bodies collapse into each other as you keep lazily riding that sensation; muscles on fire, lips meeting in messy kisses, moans panting the room, and your hands looking for each other.
When you lay on the bed side by side, you feel disconnected, and, truly, the only thing you’d like to do is to close your eyes and fall asleep, but your eyes fall on the clock against the wall and remind you why you went to his place.
“Five minutes and then we’re revisiting again,” you say, knowing the only way to get up is to say that thought out loud.
Donghyuck groans, pressing his face against you and mumbling, “can I eat you out if I make no mistakes this time?”
“We’ll see.”
Tumblr media
You’re woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of the piano playing from the living room. The other side of the bed is empty, and the sheets are crumpled up, signalling you Haechan got up somewhere during the night.
You two went on a trip the whole weekend. Not like you had a choice when he passed by your place and told you to get in the car without giving you any information. You got mad at him when he told you it wasn’t a one-day thing, but you were too far from town to even think of going back. And even if initially you were angry because your plans for the weekend were different —studying all day for three days— your anger disappeared quickly.
This is the second night out; you spent the entire day wandering around a town you didn’t even know before and got closer to each other. You love the thrill with him, but you soon realize you also love it when there’s peace between you. It’s impossible for you to don’t bicker, but you learned how to balance everything. And the more you get to know him, the more you like him.
“Can’t sleep?” You ask, watching his features being lit up by the faint moonlight and a small lamp at the side of the piano. It’s an old one, almost left abandoned in the living room of the small, cheap house you’re staying in for the night.
Donghyuck shakes his head. “Got a tune I couldn’t get off my mind so… here we are.”
You smile, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear as you sit next to him. You don’t talk, you only watch his fingers move on the notes looking like ballet dancers. You’ve never seen him play the piano before, you weren’t even sure he could. But you’re amazed at how many things he’s talented at, the guitar, the piano, production, singing, dancing —and making your days less grey.
You don’t tell him, you only lean in, resting your head on his shoulder as he keeps playing the sweet melody.
“It’s…” he huffs, stopping for a second. “Doesn’t it sound messy?”
“Not at all,” you reply. “It sounds upbeat. Happy.”
“Out of all the ways you can describe music,” he chuckles, looking at you.
You look up, shrugging. “I’m describing how it’s making me feel.”
“Yeah? And what does it feel like?”
“Play it again,” you say, closing your eyes and letting the tune lull you. “It feels like spring. Like a field full of sunflowers, the ones you see at the side of the highway, passing by so fast before you can even get lost in their beauty.”
Haechan chuckles, holding back the big smile on his face. “It reminds me of those late summer evenings, when the heat dims a bit and the sky is pale pink and purple and blue, and time is frozen.”
“Yeah, when you’re ten and you don’t want summer to end because it means you have to go back to school,” you smile. “When you would stay out all day and come home with the smell of your favourite cake that your mom just baked.”
“Really? Your mom would bake that too?”
You nod. “Chocolate cake, basic and too messy for the heat of summer. But my mom loves me too much to don’t bake it for me, even if it’s 30° outside.”
Haechan chuckles, and his fingers start moving faster, starting the melody of what could be the chorus of the tune.
“In this part, it feels like a wave. I’m picturing running on the beach as the waves crash at your feet and the wind blows against your face.”
“Why are you smiling?” He asks.
You shake your head. “I — I can… it feels oddly romantic, a bit tormented, maybe confused, but in love,” you whisper. He gives you a weird look, and you’re not sure if it’s because you’re not using technical words to describe it or because you’re just weird. But there’s a reason you’re not being technical, you’re saying what it makes you feel, the vivid pictures in your mind. And, somehow, there’s you and him.
You two on the beach, walking on the sand before he starts running, teasing you to follow him. There’s the scent of the sea filling your nostrils and your lungs burning up as you reach him and then fall in his arms and feel your heart explode.
“It’s an unexpected feeling, something that wasn’t supposed to happen and then… changed everything. It’s thrilling. Scary, but satisfying.” You avoid his gaze but hear him hum in agreement, and wonder if he’s thinking the same, if he can feel this tension.
“So, something that sweeps everything like a wave,” he asks, and you nod. “Sunset,” he adds, smiling at you, slowing down the rhythm of his fingers. “I can also see the sunset colouring the scene. The kind that makes you look up and stare in awe like a child.”
“The one we saw yesterday,” you reply shyly. “It made your eyes look even more brown,” you confess, watching his cheeks tint up of rose.
“The kind that leaves you breathless,” he whispers. His fingers are still moving but they’re playing the same notes, he’s too busy staring into your eyes, leaning closer to you.
“And speechless.”
And a bit closer.
“And grateful you’re on earth.”
And closer.
You move back, coughing and lowering your head because you feel on fire. Is he making fun of you? Does he feel this? Why is he so confusing?
“It feels like a road trip with nowhere to go,” you say to fill the silence, and your words make him play again. “The calm while everything outside is falling apart.”
“Like running to your safe place?”
You nod. “It feels like… home.”
He smiles, looking in your direction while his fingers still play that sweet melody. “I always believed home is a person, even people, but not a place.”
You swallow, staring at his lips before your eyes meet his. “I’ve forgotten that feeling quite some time ago,” you whisper, feeling your head spin. You left home and never looked back, eager to chase your dreams, the ones you’ve been fighting hard to achieve since you were a child, but in that marathon to success, you’re starting to realize you lost something.
“You just need to find the right people, and then never let go.” He leans closer to you, hands falling from the piano as he leans in completely to trap your lips in a kiss. His hand cups your face while the other moves to the back of your neck, pulling you closer and moving his thumb in small circles. You feel like your lungs are on fire, and your legs are weak, but your heart never pumped harder than this. And when he slowly pulls away, you’re staring into each other’s eyes.
You know all the words to your song.
Tumblr media
It’s true you’ve tried to avoid Donghyuck’s group of friends as much as you can —mostly to preserve your brain from early injuries— but it’s also true that the end of the second academic year is tearing you apart and you need to do something to don’t go insane.
So here you are, it’s Friday night, at their place, and you’re surrounded. Haechan has left you alone for a moment, busy talking with Mark. Jeno is trying to set up the table in the living room, while Renjun runs after him because ‘things are not perfect enough.’ Yangyang —no, he doesn’t live with them, but for some reason, he is always around— is in the kitchen doing only God knows what.
For your luck, you have Jaemin and the girls by your side. Ningning, who apparently has something going on with Mr Loverboy at your side. Yeri, who is there just to bully Haechan, Mark and Yangyang  —an old tradition that goes on since high school, and you love her for that. And Minjeong, who’s the nicest and yet smartest person you know, you are relieved she is in creative writing with Jaemin. You met them all before, one of the thousand times Donghyuck dragged you around with him, and the four of you got along right away, quickly becoming friends.
“They’re so loud, I would have a constant headache living here,” Yeri huffs loudly, rolling her eyes and falling backwards in Ningning’s arms.
You raise a brow as a ‘told you’ moment.
“They’re not that bad usually,” Jaemin defends, looking at his friends, now all too interested in something that regards what they are supposed to eat.
“Pfft, please, Jaem,” you say, glaring at him.
“How would you know?” He says. “Oh, no, yes, actually you would, you’re always here.”
“See, so stop defending them,” you say before becoming aware of the three sets of eyes boring holes into you. You turn around meeting your three friends and lift a brow in a questing look.
“Why would you always be here?” Ningning teases, nudging you.
You roll your eyes. “Don’t wander too far with your brains. I’ve got a project with Hyuck.”
“Hyuck? You used to go around calling him by his stage name just a few months ago and now it’s Hyuck?” Yeri points out, smirking smugly.
You throw a pillow at her. “He’s always attached to my hip, of course, we got closer,” you explain, frowning.
“Sure, sure,” she laughs. “Not even the boys call him Hyuck.”
“They do,” you retort.
“Of course you know, you’re always here,” Minjeong giggles and you gasp.
“You traitor!” You say, grabbing her shoulders and shaking her as you both laugh.
“Move your asses over here, motherfuc—” Yangyang screams before Renjun slaps a hand on his face.
“I will kill you all one day,” Renjun says, storming into the kitchen to bring more drinks as you sit down around the table.
“Please leave us out of it,” Yeri screams loud enough so he can hear.
“Sure, you can even help me get it done if you want to,” he says, sitting between Jeno and Yangyang, handing the bottles around.
“I’m in,” the four of you say simultaneously, raising your hands and they all gasp as they glare at you.
“Guess we better sleep with our eyes open tonight,” Yangyang mutters.
“You should always sleep with one eye open,” Yeri threatens, smiling creepily.
You chuckle at their antics, but your attention is caught by Donghyuck who sits by your side. “Would you kill me?”
You smile, caressing his hand on his thigh. “Honey, what are you saying? You would be the first that has to go.”
The smile on his face drops and you laugh, turning to the table to grab something to eat.
“You know,” he whispers, leaning in so only you can hear, “no dick tonight.”
You lower your head, trying to hide the embarrassment, but then lift it up and shake it, fixing your hair behind your ear, and turning to him. “Not like something could’ve happened tonight anyway.”
“Period?”
“People,” you say and he chuckles, opening a can of beer before taking a sip.
“As if that ever stopped you.”
You roll your eyes, stealing the beer from his hand, “as if that ever stopped you.”
He smiles, resting his head on his palm as he looks at you. “You never said no, though.”
You wave him off, returning your attention to the table, but it doesn’t last much, they’re deep in a heated conversation and you’re missing something. “Why are they bickering… again?”
Haechan chuckles, shaking his head, grabbing a spring roll, dipping it in the soy sauce before taking a bite. You roll your eyes because you need to be updated right away but when you look at him munching happily you can’t hold back a smile.
“So,” he says, cleaning his lips after he swallowed, “Jeno wants Renjun for a project, but Renjun has war traumas of the last time they did a shooting together and doesn’t want to.”
You giggle, grabbing a spring roll too, and dipping it in the same small cup of Donghyuck, while you both pay attention to the conversation.
“But you’re perfect for it,” Jeno insists, shaking Renjun from his shoulders, not caring about the pissed-off expression of the older.
“I’m literally not, ask anybody else but me,” Renjun repeats, a deep crease visible on his forehead.
“But you look like an angel,” Jeno pouts, finally stopping his movements and batting his lashes to gain some pity.
“I might look like an angel, but I feel Satan rising in me every time you talk,” he says, making everybody laugh before he glances, and the room goes quiet.
“Come on, how bad can it be?” Minjeong says, and you see her shift closer to Mark, but you don’t say anything.
Renjun groans, throwing his head back. He can’t believe he might be convinced into this by the end of the night. “He’s too much of a perfectionist, and I’m not comfortable in front of the camera. Also, he’s not rich enough to have a studio and he always takes ages to put the light boxes in their place once he’s done.”
“Oh, I won’t annoy you, I promise,” Jeno begs again.
“We can rent a studio,” you say, all eyes on you. “I mean,” you cough, placing the small bite of the roll left on the plate in front of you, “me and Hyu— Donghyuck have to shoot the cover for the songwriting project, I don’t think we can wait any longer since we also have to record the song and then come up with an advertising strategy.”
“Then rent a studio?” Renjun says, coming out colder than he intends to. “No, wait, I just don’t get why you have to drag me in this.”
“Jeno proposed to be our photographer, but I doubt we can do it at home. And since we wouldn’t be paying for his job. Sorry,” you mouth quickly glancing at Jeno who shrugs and smiles at you. “We can at least put the money for the studio.”
“And where do I fit in this,” he cries, shoulders slumping as he knows there’s no way out of this, no matter what you say next.
“Well, since you pay the studio per hour, I don’t think Jeno will torture you much. He takes two hours with you and two hours with us and in a day, we are done. Also, if there are four of us, we can be quicker,” you finish explaining, hearing some hums of agreement from your other friends.
Jeno doesn’t say a word, he’s only smiling widely with his face close to Renjun’s as the latter regrets all the life choices that brought him here. “Fine, I’ll do it,” he exhales, groaning when Jeno hugs him and screams a cheer in his ear. “Step away before I change my mind,” he warns, slapping Jeno’s arm and glaring at him when he does as told.
Yeri sighs deeply at your side, rolling her eyes and muttering, “children.”
You chuckle, finishing your roll, and stealing Donghyuck’s beer again before talking to him. “So, I guess we’re almost done.”
“Almost done? You still didn’t show me the lyrics, have you even written them?”
“Hey,” you scold. “Are you doubting me?”
“I don’t know, last time I checked, you were the one struggling. I offered you four bases, and all the words I’ve read from you ended up crumpled in the bin.”
You sigh. “I’ve got the song,” you reassure him.
“Really?”
“Yeah, and I also picked the production. I mean, I… I wrote it because of that production.”
Haechan’s smirk widens when you start stuttering and looking away, trying to look unsuspicious in your friends’ eyes. “Really? And why are you shying away?”
You almost jump when you feel his hand on your thigh, resting on your bare skin under the skirt. “I’m not,” you whisper, trying to keep cool.
He snickers. “You know I’ll have to see it and you can’t keep it a secret from me, right?”
“I know, I don’t want it to be a secret. You’ll read it.”
He squeezes your thigh, and you glare at him. “Not now.”
“Right, later, under the cover when we’ll watch a movie,” he jokes.
Yeri coughs beside you and you see your entire life pass in front of your eyes, but you fake nonchalance and turn to her. “Need something? Some water?”
“Some tea, honey, some tea,” she says, raising a brow and pointing at the man at your side, now busy talking with Yangyang.
“I can make some.”
“Stop playing me,” she whispers, sending you a deadly glare. She can be scary at times, you’re not surprised the boys listen to her in the blink of an eye.
“He’s just being stupid, he flirts even with walls,” you say.
“Does he touch their thighs?”
“No, he’s not,” you say, only to gasp when she looks down and his hand is still on you. You push it away but he puts it right where it was and you can only sigh.
Yeri snickers. “Ah, l’amour.”
Your head rolls back as you let out an annoyed sigh. “Love my ass.”
Yeri shrugs, sipping from her small bottle of soju. “Don’t care, there’s still something going on, and I’m interested.”
“I’d love to mock you with somebody but you’re more closed than an unopened can of beans.”
“You are so bad with words. How do you write songs?”
“I don’t write about beans, clearly,” you say seriously before you both laugh.
“You two, mind to share what’s funny with the class?” Ningning calls you out.
“Sorry Professor Ning, we’ll be even more annoying next time,” Yeri retorts.
“Why do I feel you’re quoting something we can’t understand?” Renjun says.
“Because you’re right,” Yeri replies.
“Yesterday Yeri almost got us expelled,” Ningning says with a forced smile on her face, making you all gasp.
“What happened to sharing information?” Mark screams, leaning in with interest.
“Why do you care so much?” Yeri shrugs, grabbing a bowl of tteokbokki to eat.
“Mh, hello? You got your asses out of Uni,” Minjeong says.
Yeri only rolls her eyes, resting her head on Ningning. “If a tteokbokki falls on my clothes you’re dead,” the blonde-haired warns before bringing her gaze to all of you. “In her defense, it wasn’t her fault. Not at the start, at least.”
“No,” Yeri retorts, sitting up straight again, and placing the bowl on the table, “it wasn’t my fault, period.”
“Here she goes again,” Ningning sighs, puffing and shaking her head, making you chuckle. But Yeri is not paying her attention, too busy telling the facts right.
“Professor Choi hates us and treats us like kids. Not only his lessons are boring, and I would like to add, useless, but he also thinks we’re in kindergarten.”
“Did you fight with him?” Jeno questions, frowning, already fearing a positive answer.
Yeri gulps, looking around to take time to answer.
“Oh, God, tell me you didn’t,” you say, staring at her with a worried expression.
“He asked for blood,” she says, getting fired up.
“You fought a Professor?” Jaemin gasps loudly.
“She didn’t,” Ningning intervenes when Yeri is about to open her mouth again. “Just because I was there to babysit her, but she didn’t.”
“I didn’t come here to be treated like a child,” she says, crossing her arms on her chest. “We weren’t even being loud. We were sitting in the back of the class, minding our business and he called us out. There was a group of boys in the middle row watching fucking porn and he called us out.”
“Ew,” it comes out collectively.
“But unless the headphones weren’t connected how would he know?” Yangyang asks.
“I don’t care! He hates us,” she groans.
“So you decided to make him hate you even more? Smart move, Yerim, smart move,” Renjun says sarcastically, and she glares at him.
“I just decided to drag her out when things got a bit heated,” Ningning says.
“Not in a Beyonce way I guess,” Haechan jokes, and Yeri slaps him as you move back to give her space to hit him.
“Hey! Why are you helping her bully me?” He asks offended.
“Cause you deserve it?” You shrug.
Donghyuck looks around in disbelief, groaning when everybody agrees. “Fake ass friends, can’t even trust your own shadow in this group.”
“Back to what matters, safe to say you won’t pass the class,” Renjun says.
“We will, there’s only one lesson left, and we’ll pay attention,” Ningning says and Yeri raises her brows. “We will pay attention. He might hate us, but, you know, a bit of boot-licking and we’ll be fine.”
“Fine,” Yeri gives up. “But only because I don’t want to see him ever again.”
“We once fought so hard we got kicked out,” Haechan confesses, bringing the attention to him.
“You and?” Jeno asks.
“Dumbass, Miss Better than him, thought you heard them bicker every two seconds,” Renjun replies instead, pointing at you with his index finger.
“Hey!” You say. “I mean, thank you for acknowledging I’m better than him but it wasn’t so bad.”
“Oh, trust me, it was,” Mark comments before drinking his beer.
“And you were teaching us a lesson, uh?” Yeri teases, eyebrow raised at you two.
“We didn’t insult the Professor,” you explain. “We were just at each other’s throat.”
“Why?” Minjeong asks.
“Honestly? Can’t remember, we fight about everything,” Donghyuck replies.
“We don’t fight,” you clarify. “We discuss. And sometimes things take a bad turn. Not anymore, we learned how to survive with each other.”
“Oh, I’m sure,” giggles Yeri and you kick her knee with yours, making her groan.
Haechan sends you a look you ignore, and you go on explaining. “We were just stating our thoughts, but we weren’t exactly agreeing, and we couldn’t stop, so the Professor told us to take it somewhere else.”
“And you did? You simply could’ve stopped,” Renjun asks in disbelief. He can’t believe he thought you were normal.
“We had business to settle, okay?” You explain.
“Oh, and we sure did,” Haechan chuckles under his breath or so he thinks because the room goes quiet, and you think you want to strangle him.
You have to come up with something.
“You only won because I gave up,” you say, looking into his eyes, seeing the devilish glint behind, warning him to not say a word more.
“You always give up if there’s a prize you can take,” he clicks his tongue and you gulp.
“Oookay, weird tension in the room, it’s clear the only one not getting laid is me,” Yangyang cheers, bringing you two out of your competitive stare. You’d like to complain, saying it’s not what he thinks about, but you’re still stuck, brain busy thinking about something else.
“This night it’s boring, if we don’t do something funny, I’ll act out my plan of killing you all,” Renjun says, standing up.
“I still don’t know whether you’re joking or not,” Mark says.
“Because I’m not.”
Tumblr media
“Caught you!”
“Hyuck!” You scream, turning around, holding a hand over your chest as his arms wrap around your waist and his chin rests on your shoulders. “You could’ve killed me.”
“You’re eating cake without me, that’s the crime,” he says, pulling your hand to his face to take a bite.
You roll your eyes. “Jaemin told me he had to store it away because Jeno and Minjeong were eating it all.”
“So, you were hiding, uhm?”
You hum, cutting another piece and diving it in two to give it to him. “He said I could eat it. Also, I think I had too much alcohol and I need to put something in my stomach.” You sit on the countertop and he takes his place between your legs.
“Am I allowed to eat it?”
“I guess so, I’ll take the blame if he says something,” you giggle.
“Don’t think he will notice, too busy dancing with somebody,” he says, hinting at Ningning.
“They look cute together,” you say, smiling fondly.
“Oh, they do. If only he could grow some balls and confess,” he says.
“Do you confess, Casanova?” You tease.
Donghyuck smirks. “How does it look like?”
You shrug. “Don’t know, you tell me.”
He rolls his eyes before he realizes you two are not together. “Wait, are we… no, never mind,” he says, pulling away, and turning to the door.
You grab his hand, stopping him. “What?”
“Jeno called,” he lies, trying to escape your hold.
“No, he didn’t. He’s sitting with Yangyang passing the blunt around,” you jump off the top and face him. “Are we?” You’re not sure what you expect him to say.
Donghyuck gulps, struggling to keep his eyes on you. “Are you fucking somebody else?”
Whatever you were expecting, that wasn’t it. “Are you?”
“I asked you first,” he retorts.
You blink. “Oh, really?
“Yeah, really.”
“Do I look like I know somebody else besides us?”
“Jeno likes you, and he told me you two are texting.”
“As friends, Hyuck. I already told him I’m taken — I’m not, I’m… I’m taken by other things in my mind. Uni, fighting you, especially fighting you.”
Donghyuck snickers, not really what he expected from you, but deep down —not even so deep, truly— what he wanted to hear. “Yeah, I agree, you’re taken, mostly by me.”
You’re about to retort but he slips from your hands too soon, leaving the small kitchen to reach the others. But you’re smiling. It’s a dumb, small smile that lights up your face in the dark of the night, and your heart pumps. You two didn’t name any of this, but —bickering aside— you objectively know you acted like a couple. It’s not about the sex, it’s about everything else. He started to pick you up before lessons so you could go to class together and sit next to each other —while he did everything he could to distract you. You ate at your friends’ table at lunch, went out for dates, and occasionally even slept over. You are taken and probably for longer than you even realise. Donghyuck started filling your days months ago, and even your life.
You’re still caught up in your thoughts that you don’t hear Ningning enter the kitchen.
“I spy with my little eyes something suspicious,” she sings while pouring herself a glass of water, leaning against the countertop where you were before.
“First Yeri, and now you?” You ask, a small smile curling your lips while you walk to lean next to her.
Ningning gasps offended. “She knew before me? Is this how you betray me? After I helped you style your hair?”
You laugh, resting your head on her shoulder, and inhaling deeply; she always smells nice. “I didn’t tell her,” you confess. “Honestly, I don’t even know myself.”
You can’t see her, but you know she’s smiling when her arms wrap around your body.
“So, what is that, love?”
You hum. “I don’t know what it is, but I know I like it.”
“I knew you were a romantic at heart,” she jokes, pulling away to squeeze your cheeks.
“I’m just happy. I don’t think I need to put a name on this… on this happiness.”
A big smile spreads on her face and her eyes crinkle, her hand softly caresses your cheeks. “It’s not only Donghyuck, is it?”
You nod, pressing your lips in a flat line because something about this feels too emotional for you. It’s 11 pm and there’s faint music playing in the living room while people laugh, and joke, sharing a blunt or bottles of alcohol. And you’re in the kitchen talking about a boy you want to kiss and strangle with who, you’re sure, can now consider your best friend. It’s the stupid fun of the early 20s. It’s the sense of something you’ve been missing for too long since you only let yourself be absorbed by your studies, leaving friendship behind.
And when a lonely tear rolls down your eyes, Ningning coos, gently wiping it away. “I’m happy,” you say, nodding.
“I know,” she replies, cupping your face.
“I’ve been on my own since I came here and I never regretted believing in my dreams even if it meant leaving the ones I loved the most behind, but now I realize what I’ve been missing,” you confess. “I love that they’re so loud they give me a headache.” You both chuckle and your hands intertwine. “And I love that we all sit together at lunch even if most of you have to run from the other side of the building. I love how none of you hesitated one moment to consider me part of your group.”
“I’m so happy you’re with us,” she says, smiling. “I guess Donghyuck does something right sometimes.”
You both laugh.
“Yeah, he definitely made my second year less boring than the first one,” you admit.
“Come here, I guess we both could use a hug,” she says, not giving you time to reply before you’re into her arms. You stay like this for a while, and you know more than before that this is what you missed the most. This is what college means. It isn’t in the loud parties, the sex, and the drugs, it’s in the people you do things with. Nine young people like you, trying to survive this craziness by being each other’s strength. You can still look at your goal right in the eye even if you have fun, even if you date, even if you have someone to walk down this road with.
“You know, I knew you were a good one when you slammed your fist on the table at lunch when he made you fuck up the essay,” Ningning confesses when you pull away.
You laugh, wiping away another tear. “I’m glad he did, I wouldn’t be here today if he didn’t.”
Tumblr media
“You and Ning disappeared in the kitchen before,” Donghyuck says, searching in his closet to find something to make you wear for the night.
“Yeah, we talked about us. I know I might not show it, but I’m glad I found this,” you sigh. “I like them.”
Donghyuck smiles, sitting next to you. “They all like you just as much.”
“It’s like I finally have a place where I belong. I have people to rely on, so maybe I’ll learn to stop wanting to deal with everything by myself.”
“I told you life doesn’t have to be lonely,” he says. “I know that coming from me sounded like sabotage but I meant it. Having someone by your side makes everything easier.”
You smile and nod, grabbing the shirt he’s handing you. “I hate to say it, but you were right,” you chuckle. He doesn’t reply and you don’t drag the conversation, simply enjoying the thousands of words you two should be telling each other, but are not ready to face, yet.
“Can I use the bathroom? I need to freshen up a bit,” you say, breaking the comfortable silence. Most of the others are crushed in the living room, you think you saw Ningning sneak into Jaemin’s room but you were too caught up in Donghyuck to be sure of that, Renjun and Jeno might still be awake but you’re sure that all the weed they smoked won’t make them pay attention to you.
“Sure, if you need towels they’re in the cabinet under the sink,” he tells you, and soon you’re out of the room.
It doesn’t take you long to clean yourself up; you wash your face and steal someone’s products to get rid of your make-up, quickly get rid of your dress, put on some perfume —you’re pretty sure it’s Donghyuck’s cause you smell like him— and then wear the shirt he borrowed.
Once you’re done, you quickly make your way to the kitchen, and, passing in the living room, you see your assumptions are right; there’s no sight of the two love birds, and the only ones awake are Renjun, Jeno and Yeri, while the others are crushed on the sofa. You expect a remark from the girl, but she barely notices you, too busy playing —trying to— something with the other two.
After a few minutes, you’re back in Donghyuck’s room, and you notice he’s changed into something comfortable, too. He’s lost folding his clothes, and you let yourself get lost in his beauty. Too busy fighting him and trying to prove something, you realize you never noticed the smallest details that make him so handsome. The bridge of his nose, his soft lips, the moles on his cheek, his soft brown hair falling around his face.
“You alright?” His voice brings you out of your daydreams and you nod shyly, feeling embarrassed for being caught staring.
“Yeah, everything fine,” you reply, quickly walking to the bed. You see him staring at you with a confused expression, but avoid any awkward moment by reaching for your phone and pretending to be busy. But you’re not busy, you’re confused. You’re not used to this, any of this. Your nights have always been filled with yourself and books (whether for school or your entertainment), and if you felt wilder a movie, rare were the occasions when you would go out with your friends. And regret is creeping on your back. You feel like you lost a lot, you feel like you’ve punished yourself to get where you are now. And you think about love, how you treated your relationships, how little weight you gave them. And when you think about what you felt in these past months you wonder if you have ever even been in love.
“Remind me to never make you drink again if you get this sulky.” Once again, Donghyuck’s voice brings you back to earth, and when you turn toward that sound, you see he’s sitting next to you.
“I’m not sulky,” you chuckle. “I was just thinking about what I said before.”
He hums. “And?”
You shrug. “Nothing. You can’t change the past, I was just… having some bittersweet emotions.” It’s the truth, but you know that deep down your brain is trying to make you focus on the friendships because you don’t want to think about your biggest problem: the man you have by your side. This wasn’t supposed to be whatever it is. It wasn’t supposed to happen. And you don’t hate that it did, but you don’t know how to feel and act about it, cause you didn’t plan it. You couldn’t study this, you couldn’t put this on a PowerPoint and have it all laid out for you to understand it, it’s not logical, it’s not a theory, a study, a thesis, it’s emotion.
“You seemed happy before,” he whispers after a few minutes of silence passed. His hand gently rests on your stomach and you feel your heart race.
“I was,” you reply. “I am. I just wish I found this sooner, I always focused on my studies and career, and looking back at it now, it was lonely. And…” you sigh, rubbing the bridge of your nose, “I’m jealous of you, ‘cause you managed to be at the top with all of this.”
He chuckles, but it’s a tender sound, and then smiles at you. “Well… I managed until you came around. You…” he coughs, struggling to confess, “you distracted me a bit, so I think you’re better than me at this socializing and rocking your career at the same time thing.”
You laugh. “I distracted you?”
“Just a bit, don’t get too excited,” he warns, falling deeper into the mattress and laying in silence. You have your thoughts tormenting you, but for him, it’s no different. He knows his plan failed. You’ve been filling his thoughts, days and seconds for a few months now. Even when he was studying or recording, somehow, you were always there. At first, for spite, surely, but then, it turned into something else. Hate turned into teasing, teasing turned into lust, and lust turned into something more. He knows he doesn’t just simply want you or need you. He craves you and your company, your study sessions together, your smart talks, your witty words, your annoyed eye-roll when he’s right, and the soft eyes when you listen to him. He craves you and your laugh, the suppressed one during lessons and the loud one when you are alone, or your hidden smirk when he makes you smile even if you don’t want to.
He constantly comes back to you.
“Are you listening or are you avoiding me?” You ask when he doesn’t reply to your question and he shakes his head, mumbling an apology.
“Sorry, I was thinking.”
You chuckle. “It’s alright, it was a bitter question anyway.”
“No come on, ask me again.”
“It was just for fun. I wanted to know if I was the reason why you’ve been doing a bit worst than me lately,” you say. There’s no mockery in your tone, instead it’s light and hides a timid blush as the words roll down your tongue.
Donghyuck’s body shuffles next to yours and only then you realize how intimately close you are, with your legs almost intertwined, his hand still on your stomach and his face resting on your chest. “Well, yes, you were an unexpected presence in my life, so…”
“So…?” You laugh. “Am I so hot I got you horny all the time?” You joke but he doesn’t crack a smile, instead he furrows and stands up to sit on the bed with his arms crossed.
“I’m not that horny,” he murmurs.
Your body mirrors his, and then your hands lift his chin up. “Sorry, I was kidding. I didn’t mean to offend you. I just didn’t think you thought about me that much. I wanted to be on top but not like this.”
“Technically, you’re not on top of everything, but anyway, we just spent a lot of time together, you know? So different studying methods and so on, shocked me a bit.”
You raise a brow, not because you’re so pretentious to think you distracted him that much, but because you think you learned to read him a bit and he’s not being honest at all. “Sure, and you weren’t busy thinking of me after our… dates? Coming home and texting me, and telling me how you should’ve been between my thighs instead?”
He blushes, and you can’t believe your eyes. “It only happened once, and either way I never study at night, my pretty brain can’t handle it.”
You laugh. “Your brain is pretty, now?”
“Yeah, of course, everything about me is pretty.” He shrugs.
“You’re a bit of a liar, you know? First telling me I distracted you and then taking it back, but it’s alright, I think we settled this war. We’re equal now, right?”
“I guess you could say that.”
You huff rolling your eyes. “You’re so competitive, God.” You fall on the mattress again. “But maybe it’s good, we can keep this healthy and competitive.”
He hums, thinking about it and then nods. But you don’t expect him to cage you with his body as he sits on top of you and reduces the distance between you. “Doesn’t sound bad, we could try.”
You smile, trying to act nonchalantly, but it’s hard when he’s so close; hair a mess, face tired but still so fucking handsome, and plump lips so temptingly close to yours.
“I want you,” you whisper, looking straight into his eyes even if they make your knees buckle.
“I want you, too,” he replies before diving in and kissing you.

The last weeks before finals are hectic. You and Donghyuck spend all the time studying together. When you’re not locked in the library you’re either at your or his place, and most of the time you end up sleeping over with the excuse of “spending just a few minutes together without thinking about exams.”
Yet, none of you confess anything. Your relationship lingers in that limbo.
In all that chaos, what takes you more time is the songwriting project. You spend days in the studio to record and mix it. Then when you are done, you move to the studio with Jeno to shoot the concept photos. And it would been enough for the exam, but you and Donghyuck just have to go an extra mile, making an entire booklet with the photos and the lyrics inside, the physical CD with the track, the instrumental, and an acapella version.
Even if the shooting is long and tiring, since you have to style and do each other’s make-up, and the only help is from Renjun, you have a lot of fun.
If at the start you feel a bit insecure with the poses, Donghyuck is the perfect partner to have to feel at ease. And Jeno knows how to do his job, making you feel like a queen after the first awkward shots.
“I love how the photos turned out,” Jeno cheers happily on your way to their place. “The three of you are the perfect models. I will annoy you again to build my portfolio.”
Renjun rolls his eyes as his head slams against the bus window.
You chuckle. “Come on, Jun,” you say, pinching his cheek. “You had fun too, you can’t deny that. Also, you got so many beautiful photos for free, I wouldn’t complain.”
“Free? I’d like to remind you I helped you pay for the rent,” he retorts, sitting straight again. “But yeah, I had fun,” he admits, making Jeno clap happily. “But, I will do this again only if she comes with us.”
Jeno bats his eyes at you and you snicker. “Yes, if I am what he needs to be dragged into the studio, I will come with you.”
“I love you,” Jeno screams, hugging you tight. When you hug him back, you make eye contact with Donghyuck, but he swiftly turns his head. Not quick enough to hide he’s not enjoying this so much; jaw tense, fingers closing in a fist.
You find his jealousy of Jeno quite interesting. Even if it’s true you got very close to him, it’s hilarious how Donghyuck thinks anything would happen between you two when Jeno is clearly taken by someone else; someone too busy plotting his murder to realize his feelings, but that’s another matter.
And Donghyuck shows his jealousy even more when, once at home, you sit around the table to watch Jeno post-produce the photos and create the mock-up for the entire project with your supervision.
His arm wraps around your shoulder as he keeps his leg pressed against yours, and you have to hold back a chuckle. Yes, it’s obvious there’s nothing between you and Jeno, but this makes you feel wanted, and you let him show it.
You know you’ll have to deal with other menaces tomorrow; a hangout is already scheduled in the group chat with the girls after a quick text sent right away by Yeri. You love her, you do, but without that, maybe, just maybe, you wouldn’t have four other pairs of eyes set on you — Jaemin and Yangyang are very curious when they want to.
“Are you listening?” Jeno’s voice brings you out of your thoughts.
You blink twice and then mumble, “what?”
He shakes his head. “Do you like the font?”
“Oh,” you whisper. Your eyes adjust again on the screen that you were mindlessly staring at and focus on the project. “Yeah, I love it.”
“We were thinking of not putting our name on it since it’s more trendy lately,” Donghyuck says.
You nod. “Yeah, I think it’s better like this. I also love the picture, I think it would be more powerful without the name on it but we’re not that famous, yet,” you joke making them laugh.
“That’s why I didn’t make it too big, so the focus would be on you two.”
“Love it, that's perfect,” you praise. “Honestly, seeing it all almost done, I feel guilty for not giving you anything.”
Jeno shrugs. “It’s alright. I’m having fun doing this and can put it in my portfolio anyway. I did much worse and less fun for some courses.”
“We will offer you a dinner,” Donghyuck says. “Somewhere cheap, though.”
After a few hours, everything is almost done. Jeno still wants to double-check everything tomorrow before sending it to be printed but the final results won’t differ much.
“So, I think we should celebrate the project that brought you two so close,” Ningning says, winking at the last words, before raising an empty cup.
You chuckle, trying to escape Donghyuck’s hold, but it’s still firm on you. “It’s just a Uni project, there's nothing to celebrate.”
“Well, mine and Mark’s is not that good,” Yangyang snorts. “I don’t understand why you two always want to do so much extra work but whatever makes you happy.”
“We love the song,” Donghyuck replies. “And we’re proud of it so we might as well fool ourselves it might get more than 30 listens on SoundCloud.”
“For me,” Ningning says, “this is huge. One day you’ll be famous and we will get to say we were here from the start, so we need to treat ourselves and party.”
“Yes, let’s treat ourselves to the cheapest pizza on the block. Oh, how I love being an adult,” Yeri huffs, slumping on the couch. “No, but really, this is something to celebrate.” She then moves closer to you so that only you can hear. “And maybe if we get you drunk enough we’ll get juicy info before tomorrow.”
You roll your eyes and shake your head. “Fine, order these pizzas and let’s celebrate.”
Tumblr media
The girls don’t get you drunk enough to spill anything but get themselves drunk enough that Jaemin has to drive them back to their place. Truthfully there’s nothing to say anyway. You and Donghyuck still didn’t talk, you didn’t even have sex lately. Too busy with everything, that was the last of your thoughts. But you did sleep together and basically lived in symbiosis. So?
You should feel happy about this project. Academically it will be another success, and honestly, one of your best works so far. So why do you feel this emptiness in your chest now that you’re sitting on a chair in Donghyuck’s bedroom?
This is the end. Now nothing holds you two together, and you fear that what you built over these months might not be strong enough for you to still hang out with you. You wonder if this meant anything to him. Sure, he likes you, but how much? Sex means nothing, and even if said between the lines, he got you to try out romantic things to make you come up with the song. And he succeeded. You have the song, the lyrics you tried so hard to put down. Fake dates, fake flirts, fake everything, but everything you put down is real. And it’s terrifying.
So absorbed by your torments, you don’t see Donghyuck stare at you, standing in front of you changed into fresh clothes.
“Hey.” His voice makes you flinch in surprise and quickly look up at him. There’s a frown on his face. “What’s with that face?”
You shrug, diverting the eye contact.
“Are you not happy with the result?” Donghyuck asks, grabbing the closest chair so he can sit right in front of you.
“No, I love it. I loved everything so much and that’s why I’m sad.” There are many reasons why, and you’re not a master at dealing with too many emotions at once. Subjects? Books? Essays? Projects? They can fall and pile up on you and you won’t feel the weight of it. But real life? Feelings? Not where you excel.
“Cause you won’t have any excuses to spend time with me and see me?” He teases, chuckling. He’s still the same person you met one year ago but behind his playful voice and acts there’s something tender, at least you like to see it this way.
“Uhm, I hope we will keep seeing each other,” you confess shyly, doing everything in your power to not meet his warm gaze. His hands on his lap are a beautiful view now. “But no…”
His teasing smirk turns apprehensive. “Hey, what’s wrong?”
You shrug. This should be the easy thing to confess. A bit humiliating considering showing some weakness to him still feels like letting your mortal enemy pour salt in your open wounds, but you’re hiding more vulnerable things from him.
“Nothing but… I was so sure I didn’t want to be a singer, and I was more and more sure of working in Pr, and now… I don’t know. I loved writing the song, like I always do, but this time felt different, as if… that’s what I’m supposed to do in my life, you know?” You look up because even if you can’t take a mocking look you have to see his reaction.
He smiles, caressing your cheek. “I think you’re good at it so yeah, you should.”
You’re taken aback by that reply. Deep down you wanted him to shred your dreams cause you feel like all of this is insane, and if you have nobody supporting you maybe you won’t indulge in it. But it’s clear that Donghyuck is not an enemy anymore and has your back now.
“Yeah but… I loved singing and doing it with you. Being in the studio, recording, but even before when we were working on the melody and everything. And working on the concept? We did all that with just one song, can you imagine what working on an album feels like?”
He smiles and nods. “Well, yeah, I fantasized about it a lot, so yes. But why is it a problem? Why can’t you pick this as a career?”
You can see in his eyes that he’s confused. Not by your change of path, but by your sudden insecurity. Deep down you’re shocked by that too. You have changed goals a few times in your academic career but somehow this feels so different.
“Cause it’s rare to make it,” you mutter, nervously playing with your hands. Truth is, the chances of failure are so big, and you’re not sure you could take it. You and your perfectionism and your need to succeed on the first try.
“Can’t say you’re wrong, it’s hell out there, but… you’re good, and beautiful, and I’m sure that with your songwriting skills and your voice, someone will notice you.”
He had tried to make a name for himself longer than you, he knows it. During some vulnerable night conversation where you showed him your songs, he told you how many demos he had sent, and how hard he tried to build something at least on the socials. So you don’t care if his words are driven by sympathy, he could discourage you, but instead, he’s supportive, and that’s all you need.
“And what am I without your production? Will you be my Jack Antonoff?”
Donghyuck laughs. “I’d prefer to be your Aaron Dessner.”
“Yeah, fine. I like that Haechan,” you say, highlighting that name that now sounds foreign.
“I don’t want to hear that name roll from your lips anymore,” he chuckles and you hum laughing.
“Talking about lyrics,” he says after a few seconds, the phrase lingers in the air… “this song was interesting.”
“Interesting? What do you mean? Is it bad?” Your eyes widen and the anxiety that left you jumps at you again.
He shakes his head. “I said interesting, not bad. You should know the difference.”
“It’s not funny, interesting means nothing.”
He chuckles. “Some phrases are interesting… that’s it. They look familiar.”
You feel your body burn up in flames and you have to shift your gaze from him. You should’ve scrapped that, he isn’t dumb. (You believed he was up until two seconds ago, but apparently, he was just waiting for the right moment to trap you.)
“I wonder if something, or someone,” he winks, “inspired you.”
“The sea. When we went there together. The sea inspired me,” you whisper swiftly, nervously biting the inside of your cheek. “That’s why I called it wave.”
Donghyuck laughs. “I’m not talking about the title, and you know it,” he says, resting his hand on your knee. “Flow that I’ve never felt before? Meeting you through distinctive distraction is a miracle?”
“You told me you liked it,” you say, playing innocent.
He rolls his eyes. “I do. I love it, actually. I just wanted to analyse it with you.”
You gulp when his fingers start rubbing on your skin. “We should’ve done it before recording it, don’t you think?”
He clicks his tongue. “Nah, I want to do it now. I think I already know who inspired you.”
“The sea —”
“Drop it,” he retorts sternly, squeezing your knee. “I think our plan worked. Well, unless you found someone else who inspired you to write a love song.”
“It’s barely a love song,” you stutter, body heating up.
“Right, some lyrics felt sexy,” he giggles. “You’re such a master in holding me here and there and going up and up down and down again.”
You try to scoot away, but he blocks you by putting his feet under the leg of the chair. “So what? Also, you’re dirty-minded, that’s not what it means…”
He snickers, rubbing his thumb on your cheek. “Why are you so flustered then?”
“Cause you’re too close to me, I can barely breathe.”
“Mhh… it reminds me of something.”
You roll your head back and mutter a curse under your breath. “Isn’t it what you wanted? To inspire me? I did it. I romanticized everything and we got the song.”
“Romantized everything,” he hums. “In this wave called you that’s pushing in, I fall in love. You are the center of my heart. Feeling new, feel now. The wave that started because of you, babe. Dive into the world called you. Damn, your creativity is so good, you are talented.”
“Are you mocking me?”
“No, I…” he sighs annoyed. “If you wrote it down in a song, why can’t you say it to my face?”
You gulp. “I have nothing to tell you.”
He raises a brow. “So you’re still confused. Should I satisfy you to hear you say it?”
You hide your face in your hands and groan. “Fine,” you snap. “I — I wrote that about you. And I, God, this is humiliating. You heard the song, you sang it. Do you want me to say it out loud? Was that not enough?”
Donghyuck smiles, and, for a moment, you fear he will break into a mocking laugh, but instead, his smile gets bigger. “Yes, I knew it,” he screams.
“Oh… of course it’s funny to you, maybe this is what you wanted all along, make me fall in love and then make fun of me.”
“Fall in love?” He whispers, stopping in his tracks to look at you, and only then you realise you said it loud and clear. And it’s worse than saying it in a song. “You love me seriously? Like it’s not just attraction and maybe liking me?”
You feel like choking up on tears but try not to show it. “So you can laugh at me more?”
“Why would I laugh at you? I just want to know if what you feel is real,” he replies, and somehow he sounds even more annoyed than before.
You hum and nod, no words can leave your mouth.
“Did you really think I would use this against you? Don’t you trust me?”
“I — I… I don’t know, okay? I do, but also, this was… this was all fake, just to write that song and now it’s real. And it was never supposed to be real, and maybe you never wanted me, cause I’m not your type and you hated me and we both wanted this to be over and now I feel like I can barely breathe without you, and I know that in the song I said I would’ve left the decision in your hands but the idea of you not wanting me back makes me sick and I —”
Your words fall into a void as he kisses you with no hesitation. Hands cupping your wet face and holding the back of your neck to keep you close.
“You’re so fucking stupid. So, so smart and yet such an idiot when it comes to feelings,” he chuckles when he pulls away. “You said I was an unexpected thing that completely changed your flow but do you have any idea of what you were to me? You ruined my second year,” he confesses, and your face quickly shifts into a worried expression, but he clears your doubts right away.
“I thought I could beat you, I thought I could have the upper hand and… you messed up my days and nights. I thought you couldn’t fill up so much of my time when I already had so many friends but, fuck, I was wrong. And instead of distracting you, I let you distract me.”
“But I — I didn’t plan it, I didn’t want to —”
His thumb shushes you as his eyes crease in a smile. “You didn’t do anything, I just miscalculated. I didn’t know the amazing person you are, and let jealousy consume me before love took its place without me even noticing.”
You almost gasp. “Love? So, you do love me back?”
He nods. “Strong word, I know. But goddam, you were ten times cheesier in the song.”
You laugh and he does the same.
“But I am hurt, though. I can’t believe you thought I was playing you.”
“What were the chances you were going to fall for me, too? Nobody ever falls for me.”
“Good thing you only needed me to fall for you,” he says, kissing you. “So… did you fall for me at the beach?”
“I was confused back then. I knew I felt something but I didn’t know what it was. I thought it was only attraction, but at the same time, I felt like I needed you, you know?”
“And to think I wasn’t even sure of taking you there,” he giggles.
“Really?”
He nods. “I wanted to study, I already felt like I was falling behind and I thought I could use those three days to catch up, but then you crossed my mind and I forgot about the rest.”
You look down to hide the big smile on your face. No, you’re not happy you almost made him fail his second year in this war, but you love knowing how much he cares about you. The old Donghyuck would’ve never confessed this, he would’ve never shown how weak you make him. But now he’s proudly telling you how you genuinely occupied his thoughts.
“I know I didn’t show signs of failure, but you did succeed in your plan just a bit.”
He snorts. “Don’t need fools gold.”
“No, I’m serious. I mean, maybe you’re right, you didn’t, but I think you succeeded in something better. You showed me I can achieve my academic goals and still live life. You showed me so much. I had fun on my own, and I loved it, but I also only had myself and nobody to count on, and that sucks.”
“I didn’t do it.”
“Yes you did, you pushed me out of my comfort zone and trust me, I did panic sometimes. I just hide it better. But you gave me the chance to meet seven amazing people allowing me in your friend’s group. Some of you have known each other for so long, that’s probably when I should’ve put my heart at ease and realised you truly cared about me.”
“You fail to understand how likeable you are. Everybody loves you, you just don’t pay them attention.”
You shrug. He’s probably right. You never cared about that, but you won’t start caring about it now. You found your people, you found your place.
Tumblr media
Staying at his place for the night is tempting, but, truth be told, you two want to be on your own on your first night as lovers. So, with the excuse of wanting to eat an ice cream (not an excuse, you will eat ice cream), you slip out of the place.
The others don’t care. Honestly, it’s clear that everyone except you two was expecting this ending, but you will deal with this tomorrow at lunch with the girls. For now, you chuckle at Jeno’s wink before he rests his head on Renjun’s shoulder again, who barely waves goodbye before going back to the movie they’re watching. Mark seems to be the only one confused at the way your arms are linked when you walk through the living room, but you’re sure that Yangyang, who has a teasing smirk on his face, will fill him in as soon as you’re out of the door. Jaemin will sneak at the girls’ hang-out tomorrow, his face lets it all known.
“I love this place,” Donghyuck says when you enter your apartment.
“Really? This hole?” You chuckle, leaving your bag at the door and getting rid of your shoes.
He nods. “It’s cosy and quiet, and I get to have you all to myself.” Before he finishes the phrases he pulls you in his hold, almost making you lose your balance and you scold him.
“Can you be less clumsy?”
“Mhh... no.”
“Also, it’s not like not being alone ever stopped you from being the clingiest man on earth.”
He huffs, throwing his head back as he slowly starts walking backwards to reach the bed. “As if you don’t like it.”
“You got us many suspicious looks,” you complain.
“Girl, everybody knew about us,” he says, falling on the bed with you. “I fear they were betting on a situationship but well, we didn’t do anything to keep this on the low.”
You shrug. “Whatever,” you say, caressing his face to move the hair on his eyes. “I don’t care. Tonight I just want to think about us.”
“Now you’re talking,” he hums happily. “Can I get a chocolate-less kiss?”
You laugh. “You can get all the kisses you want.”
Your lips connect to his to start a sweet kiss that lasts for a while. You never truly pull away as your hands start moving on each other to get rid of the clothes and leave you half-naked on the bed.
“Wanna taste you,” he murmurs, rolling around so your back is on the mattress before he starts going down. His fingers hook with the band of your panties and pull them down. “A bush?”
You huff. “I was just a bit busy, and didn’t have time to shave.”
“Good. I hope you don’t find time to do it ever again,” he says making you laugh.
“You like it?” You ask.
“I love it,” he replies.
You don’t have time to react because his lips are on you as soon as he's done talking. Your hips buck up and you fail to hold back the moans.
Donghyuck takes his sweet time, licking up stripes to get you wet before he starts sucking on your hardening clit.
Your head rolls back against the pillow and your hands can’t help but tangle in his hair to pull him closer. The groan of pleasure that comes out of his mouth at your gesture makes you tremble.
“So fucking sweet for me,” he mumbles against you. “My sweet girl.”
A dumb grin curls your lips and your eyes try to open to get a glimpse of him. You regret that action cause his pretty face smashed against you as he eats you out as if you're his last meal sends shivers straight to your core.
“Please,” you whimper, making him open his eyes to stare at you. Your throat tightens and you feel like you might pass out from that, but still force yourself to finish the phrase. “Don’t stop, you’re so good. I — I never felt like this.”
He grins, pulling away only to reply. “Yeah? Am I that good?”
You groan. He’s still so competitive and always has to prove a point. But you don’t care. That’s fun. That’s what you love about him. “Yes, you’re that good. Just please, keep doing it.”
“Never planned of stopping.”
When his mouth starts moving on you again you see stars. Your neck falls behind, enjoy the softness of the pillow, and you stop trying to keep it together, moaning loudly and chanting his name.
His hands wrap around your thighs, keeping you close to his mouth. And each flick of his tongue pushes the climax closer, making you see stars.
Your breath gets messier as you hit your peak and pleasure takes over your body as you let go to that blissful sensation running inside you.
You’re still gasping for air when you feel his fingers prodding at your entrance, slowly entering you.
“Hyuck, what are you—?”
“I want you to be ready for me,” he says. “I won't make you come another time, I promise. Just getting you wetter.”
You mumble a sound that makes no sense before you decide to relax and enjoy the sensation. It’s not like you would ever complain about his fingers, you simply don’t want to be too sensitive already. But he’s true to his words, his two fingers fuck into you, curling up right on your sweet spot, turning you on more and coating them white.
“Always so good for me,” he praises when he pulls out, sucking them harshly before he leans in to kiss you. Your hands wrap in his hair as you pull him closer, letting your legs wrap around his waist to pull him down. “Damn, calm down,” he chuckles close to your lips. “I’m not going anywhere.”
“I know, but I want you close.”
Donghyuck smiles. “Unhook your legs for a moment and I’ll be as close as possible.”
Reluctantly, you do as ordered, knowing that as soon as he’ll slip in, your legs will be exactly in the same place.
You barely pay attention when he does, too focused on the gentle kisses he's leaving on the crown of your head, cheeks and neck. Your eyes only open when he bottoms in and brings your legs around himself.
“Happy now?” He asks, brushing behind a few strands of hair that fell on your face.
“More than happy,” you reply smiling. Your body moves on its own when your hips buck up against him, eliciting a deep moan to slip past his lips.
That’s the sign he needs to know he can start moving. One hand places on your waist to keep you in place and the other supports his body as he starts dragging his hips out.
You can feel your heart skip a beat when he leans down and hides in the crook of your neck, inhaling deeply. “You always smell so good, that’s what tricked me to always be close to you,” he mumbles, nibbling your skin.
You chuckle, shaking your head. Even now he has something to say. Still, his words don’t distract him from his actions. With each stroke, he hits deep inside of you, hitting sensitive spots that make your toes curl and your fingers close into fists on the sheets.
After finding the perfect angle, Donghyuck starts speeding up, his thrusts not harsh but fast enough to build up a steady rhythm. And, with each one, you feel a wave of pleasure invading you.
“Come here,” you whisper, cupping his face to pull him close. “Wanna kiss you.” Your lips are on his right away and you both let go to a long passionate kiss as the hold of your legs around his waist tightens. One hand leaves his face to run on his back, feeling his muscles flex.
Your moans get louder with every passing second but they end up muffled in the messy kiss you’re still sharing.
When his hand sneaks between your bodies, so he can touch your clit in quick circular motions, you know you won’t last much longer. Your walls clench hard around him, and more wetness coats him as your hips buck up for more friction. And the last drop comes from his lips, leaving yours to wrap around your sensitive nipples.
“Hyuck,” your voice trembles as you call for him. Pleading eyes looking up at him. You should say something sex-related, maybe praise how good he’s making you feel, or how close you are, but even if those are the thoughts on the tip of your tongue, the words that come out are completely different. “I love you,” you whisper in a hush, feeling the weight disappear from your chest. Saying it clearly is like finally coming to the real realization.
Donghyuck smiles, kissing you repeatedly on the lips. “I love you, too.”
And soon after, you both reach your peak. The pleasure shoots through your bodies like fireworks in the sky.
You stay like that for a few minutes, kissing each other as you wait for your bodies to calm down.
When he slips out of you gently, putting his shirt under your body to avoid a mess, you still have a dumb, but content, smile on your face.
You don’t have the energy to move, so you lay there as you watch him move around to grab new clothes and two glasses of water. Just the time to pull yourself together, and you’re once again under the bedsheets, cuddled up against each other. You relax at the feeling of his fingers rubbing circles on the back of your neck and let his heartbeat be a sweet melody.
Mamma Mia is playing on the TV, but none of you has much energy to sing along to ABBA’s songs —he has a bit more than you as he hums the words.
When he chuckles, you look up at him.
“What’s so funny?” You ask, staring at the tv with a frown on your face. The SOS scene not being exactly one of the funniest one.
“I was thinking about us,” he says.
“I do hope we won’t end up like this.”
“Yeah, no, but you ended up being my Waterloo, I guess,” he whispers, looking at you. And then you get it, remembering when he sang it to you.
“I told you,” you reply, making him gasp offended. “What? You expected me to say something nice? You mocked me, you bragged and I cursed you with eternal love for me.”
Donghyuck laughs and then wraps his arms around you to pull you flatter against him, resting his chin on your head.
“You know this doesn’t mean I’ll stop trying to beat you, right?” He chuckles, but when you lift your gaze, getting a glimpse of him, you see his serious expression. And you hope he's true to his intention and that that spark set by your ambition will never die.
You smile smugly before relaxing against his warm embrace. “Yeah, but we’ll see if I’ll let you.”

YEARS LATER
“Is everything alright? Why are you looking at us like this?” You ask, shifting on your seat on the couch, looking at the girl in front of you.
“Is it true?”
“What?” Donghyuck says.
“Is it true that you two couldn’t stand each other?” She says, big brown eyes staring at you with curiosity.
You quirk a brow, giving your full attention to your daughter. “Why this sudden question?”
“Cause it’s embarrassing to see tweets of people going insane over you two, but also I think it’s unfair how these strangers seem to know more about my parents than me.”
You and Donghyuck laugh. “And what do they say?"
She rolls her eyes. “That they can’t believe you hated each other and that you started dating her to distract her but ended up falling for her?”
You look at each other smirking before a tender, nostalgic smile takes its place.
“Would it be so terrible?” He asks, tilting his head.
She thinks about it for a moment and then replies. “It would be a bit embarrassing for you, Dad. But also... cute. So?”
“I’d say it’s true,” he replies, shrugging.
“Wait, so you really started dating because you hated each other?” She screams, sitting straight on the loveseat, leaning toward you with her body.
You chuckle. “We didn’t hate each other. We believed we could outdo the other. And your father did too much, as always.”
“You were miserable before me,” Donghyuck replies, tightening his hold around your waist. “I had a plan, and it would’ve worked.”
You roll your eyes. “Imagine thinking you could make me fall in love and not fall in love with me,” you say to your daughter. “I was a real heartbreaker back then.”
“You still are,” she replies, smiling. “My friends go insane every time they realize who my parents are.”
Your daughter never brags about being your child. The famous singer, producer, and dancer Haechan, and you, who had a good launch as a singer before you realized that wasn’t your world and decided to stick to be a choreographer and PR manager (well, mostly Donghyuck’s choreographer and his manager). But everyone close to her knows who she is, and it’s not easy to act nonchalantly about it.
She has heard many stories about you two. The gossip about your story running wild since you broke into the industry. But you never sat down and explained it to her, not until now.
“We still have our charm,” Donghyuck laughs.
“I think the most important thing is your love and that you might be the best parents in the world. But I’m saying it officially only if you don’t turn it into a race.”
“Us? Turning something into a competition? We would never,” Donghyuck jokes.
She rolls her eyes, huffing loudly. And you can’t help but smile thinking how similar to your husband she looks right now.
“Honey, forgive us. How do you think we’re still having so much fun after all these years? That’s how we thrive, we learned how to push each other healthily.”
“Yeah, fine, I’m glad your love story is still perfect, but seriously, no competition when it comes to me. I love you both so much.”
“Come here,” you say, patting the space in front of you on the couch. Hugging her when she sits down between you two. “You are the only thing we won’t turn into a competition.”
Donghyuck hums in agreement, wrapping his arm around you two. “We both won with you.”

Tumblr media
To you, Natasha Romanoff is the most beautiful woman to ever walk the earth.
You’ve been wanting to tell her for months that you like her. Ever since you joined the team you’ve had feelings for her. But you can’t get a read on her.
You have no idea if she has feelings for you too. Sometimes it feels like she’s flirting with you but then you see or hear her act the same way with one of the guys and you brush it off as nothing.
This weekend Clint invited everyone to his farm to enjoy a quick getaway and clear your heads. Missions hadn’t been easy lately, so you all needed the reprieve.
When you arrive, Natasha walks in the house first. She’s clearly very comfortable here.
“Welcome!” Laura says to everyone. “Come on in. Make yourselves at home!”
“Thank you for having us, Mrs. Barton,” you say when you greet her.
“Oh please, called me Laura,” she says. Then she addresses everyone, “We don’t have enough rooms so you’ll have to share. Nat, can y/n sleep with you?”
You try not to have a visceral reaction to the idea. You hold your breath as you await her reply.
“Sure,” Nat simply says. She turns to you, “I’ll show you the way.”
You follow her up the stairs where you run across a couple of kids.
“Auntie Nat?” A girl asks, in shock of seeing Nat.
“Hey malyshka,” Natasha replies. She brings the girl in for a hug. “Lila, this is y/n. Hopefully you won’t discover you like her more than you like me.”
You smile and wave to Lila. She returns the smile before running off downstairs.
Nat takes you down the hallway and to what appears to be her bedroom when she stays here. There are photos of the Barton family and Nat on the dresser. You admire how happy she looks here.
“I always sleep on the door side, but we’ll do whatever you feel comfortable with,” Nat says.
“Oh, either side works for me.”
Nat nods. You set your bag down on the bed and unpack a few things. Natasha moves around the room, gathering a few of her own things.
You both go back downstairs for the rest of the evening. Nothing too eventful happens. Everyone makes plans to spend time outside tomorrow.
Natasha is first to the bedroom. She slips into the bed casually. You try to do the same but fail miserably at not looking nervous.
“I don’t bite, you know,” Nat says teasingly.
“Right,” you respond too quickly. “I just- sorry.”
“Relax, y/n,” she says. You settle on your side of the bed. “Goodnight.”
“Night, Natasha.”
You both drift off into a peaceful sleep. You first, and then Natasha.
At some point during the night, you end up snuggling close to Natasha. She wakes up to the feeling of your arm draping over her. But she doesn’t mind it. Actually, she likes it.
When you wake up in the morning, you find yourself still nestled in her arms.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” you say, trying to move off of her.
“Hey, it’s fine,” Nat says, only tightening her grip a bit before letting you loose. “So, you’re a cuddler, huh?”
You look away shyly and Nat just smirks. Now you definitely can’t believe you slept next to Natasha and accidentally snuggled with her all night. She doesn’t say anything else about it until you go downstairs for the day.
“Good morning!” Laura greets. She’s pulling fresh biscuits from the oven. “How did you sleep?”
“Good,” you answer briefly.
“She sure was cozy,” Nat interjects. It’s just Laura in the room with you two, but you still try to hold back a blush.
“Mhm, I’m sure,” Laura replies. Somehow you’re sure she knows the way you feel about Nat and how Nat feels about you.
Soon, the boys come tumbling into the kitchen. You all go outside to do your respective chosen activities. Steve promised to show you how to chop wood while Nat and Clint run off to the barn to build a new shelter for some of the animals.
“So, what’s the deal with you and Romanoff?” Steve asks after a few minutes of chopping the wood.
“Oh, is there- is there a me and Romanoff?”
“Is there not?” He asks genuinely. “I’m sorry. I just thought that you two- nevermind.”
“It’s okay,” you reply, shrugging.
It does leave you wondering if the other members of the team think something is happening there too. You try not to think about it too much as you continue to work outside. The fresh air does wonders for you.
Steve asks you to go grab the axe sharpening block from the barn, so you walk to the structure. When you get there, you catch sight of something that makes your jaw practically drop to the ground.
Natasha is wearing only a blank tank top and shorts are she uses a power drill to build a wooden structure. Sweat drips down her neck and chest as she expertly uses the tool.
You swear she catches the sight of you out of the corner of her eye, but she continues on with her drilling. She lifts heavy pieces of wood with ease. You can’t stop staring.
Nat lifts her tank top up to wipe the sweat from her face. You see her ab happy stomach and the sports bra that’s keeping the rest of her skin covered.
“Enjoying the view?” Nat says aloud. You’ve definitely been caught now.
“Oh, I was just-“ you start, but there’s no use. You were doing exactly that. “My bad.”
“Don’t apologize,” Nat says. “Come on in, what did you need?”
“We needed the axe sharpener block thing?”
“Is that a question?”
“Well, I don’t know what it is so yes?”
Nat chuckles. She turns to look at the shelf behind her for the tool you need. Her backside somehow looks just as good as her front.
“Here you go,” Nat says. She hands you the block. You are standing close to her now. “The real fun is happening in there though. I can show you how to use this.”
She gestures to the drill in her left hand, pressing her finger on the trigger to make it whir. You shouldn’t be so intrigued by it. Or by her for that matter. But you are.
“Maybe tomorrow you can show me?” You ask her.
“How about tonight?” Nat asks. Her voice drops an octave. You pray she means what you think she means.
You swallow shyly and Nat shoots you a smile. Slowly, you leave her there and go back to Steve. He doesn’t mention how long it took you to get the tool, thank goodness.
Later that day, you all grill out burgers and hotdogs. Clint tries to show off his grilling skills, but the team just gives him a hard time saying that it’s not all that hard anyways.
By the time evening comes, everyone’s sitting around a campfire. Natasha sits across from you. She glances at her phone and then to you as a way of alerting you to look at your phone.
The text reads: Meet me in the barn. 10 minutes.
You nod in her direction to acknowledge you got the message. The minutes pass by and you both leave to go to the barn.
When you get inside, Nat is already over by the wood she was working with earlier.
“Come on, I’ll show you,” Nat says.
“Okay,” you agree. You stand next to her.
“First things first, always know your surroundings,” Nat says.
She abruptly places her hands on your hips. She easily moves you to the right and left to observe your surroundings. Your heart stops when she reaches around you and her face is mere inches from yours.
She steps back and has a pair of clear glasses in her hand.
“And wear safety glasses,” she says. She places them on your face. You’re sure you look like an absolute fool. “Cute.”
“You didn’t wear these yesterday,” comes your reply.
“That’s because I’m an expert,” Nat says. She surprises you by pinching your cheeks. “You’ll get there, sweetheart.”
Natasha grabs the drill and ushers you to move closer to the wood with her. She takes you through step by step on how to use the power tool.
“Now, you can try,” Nat says.
“Okay,” you reply. You feel a little nervous about trying it. Nat assures you that you can’t mess it up.
You try to focus even with Nat being so close to you. For the first time using a drill, you don’t do terribly.
“Nice job, y/n,” Nat says. “But you’ll want to apply more pressure. Let me help you, sweetheart.”
Natasha places her hand on yours and pushes down on the drill. You pull the trigger and drill the screw into the wood. Her hot breath is on your neck.
You smile at your success and turn just enough to look at Nat. She’s just inches from you.
“Should we take this inside?” Nat asks. Her eyes glance to your lips and back up to your eyes. She brings her other hand to your cheek and brushes the back of it against it.
“Are you- um- yes?”
“Yes? Or yes.”
“The second one,” you say. Natasha smirks at you.
You leave the drill and safety glasses behind. Natasha holds your hand as she walks you to the house. You slip upstairs easily and she closes her bedroom door behind her.
“I’ve had my eye on you for a while,” Natasha says.
“Really?” You ask innocently.
“Really, detka. Come here,” she says, bringing you to the bed with her.
You sit next to her and she kisses you softly. It’s like floating on a cloud. You didn’t think she would be this gentle. But you’re loving it.
“May I?” Nat asks, gesturing to your shirt. You nod. She lifts the material over your head. “Beautiful.”
You feel sure you’re blushing at her words and the way her eyes rake over your body.
“Can I- um?” You pull at her tank top hem.
“Yes, baby,” Natasha says. “You can do anything to me.”
You lift the thin material over her head. Your heart stops at her beauty. You immediately lean forward and take her nipple into your mouth. It surprises Natasha how intentional you are being.
“Fuck, baby.”
“Is this okay?” You ask, pulling away a bit. Nat pulls your head back to her breasts. You’ll take that as a yes.
Natasha fumbles with your pants. She gets them unbuttoned but grumbles in frustration when she can’t get them off. You chuckle against her.
“Okay, hold on,” Nat says. She stands up and pulls her own pants down before grabbing you by the hips and pulling you up too.
Natasha takes your pants off with ease this time and slips them down your legs along with your underwear. She grins and drops to her knees. It doesn’t take her long to get to work licking and sucking at your pussy.
“Oh my god,” you moan out.
“You taste so good, baby. All for me,” Nat says.
“Fuck.”
You feel close to coming embarrassingly quickly but Natasha is proud of her work.
“Come for me, y/n,” she says. Her voice drips with sex.
“Fuck, Natasha!”
You come hard against her tongue. She licks you clean and stands back up. She kisses you deeply. It’s the most on fire you have ever felt.
“I want to taste you,” you tell Nat.
“Your wish is my command,” Nat says. She lays on the bed and you crawl over her body.
“So beautiful,” you say as you kiss from between her breasts down to her hips.
“You’re not so shy now are you?” Nat asks. You answer by diving into her wet pussy.
Her folds are slick and she’s ready for you. You lick and suck her, cherishing every noise she makes.
“Fuck, baby,” Nat says. “I’m going to come.”
“Come for me, Natasha.”
She does just that. You relish in the sounds she makes. You move back up her body and lay next to her.
“So, all of those times I thought you were flirting with me you actually were?” You break the silence.
Nat chuckles. “Yes, y/n. I’ve been hinting at it for months. I’m glad we finally got on the same page.”
She looks at you through her long eyelashes. You rest your head on her shoulder.
“I’ve always liked you, Natasha,” you say. “Do you think the team noticed we left?”
“Nah,” Nat says. “Even if they did, I don’t care. I have you.”
“You sure do.”
You snuggle further into Natasha. She holds you close as you lay together and talk for hours.

The automatic doors hissed open, announcing the arrival of the owner of these small quarters. You lifted your head from the tablet, wanting to confirm that your routine remained unbroken — that you would survive one more day. Seeing the familiar silhouette, you exhaled in relief. The same titan as always had returned. You’d live to see tomorrow.
“Hi,” you greeted, well aware you’d never receive a verbal response. The titan was fiercely silent.
He nodded, and that was the end of your “conversation.”
Your interactions hadn’t always been like this. They weren’t always this warm. Going from trembling in fear at just the sight of him to saying “good morning” of your own free will had taken some time. Not that you had much choice in terms of social interactions, which the reptilian part of your brain still craved. You’d only seen other members of his species once, on the day of your abduction. Accepting that this was now your life, indefinitely, hadn’t been easy, but after many months, you’d adjusted. Humans were made to adapt to new conditions, and you were no exception. The will to live had won.
You returned to reading an e-book on your tablet (a reward for good behavior) but quickly paused, noticing the robot had stopped at the desk, right by the small corner arranged just for you. You looked up—he seemed to be looking straight at you. Even with the screen covering his face, you could feel his optics on you.
He was enormous, terrifying, and the lack of human-like facial features, which you’d noticed on others, only heightened the fear factor. He looked like a xenomorph. But your alien was real. And he wanted something from you.
“What’s up?” you asked, uncertainly.
He moved his hand, slowly, calculatedly, and pointed at the tablet as if he genuinely cared about what you were doing, as if he cared about your existence. By now, you understood perfectly what he meant, having gone through this countless times when he returned to you after a few, sometimes several, hours of absence. This was your little ritual, a remnant of normalcy in a world where nothing was normal.
“I didn’t manage to read much,” you sighed. He tilted his head slightly. It was almost cute. Almost. “I just can’t concentrate today. I’m having kind of a rough day.”
It would certainly be better if you were spending your time at home, with family and friends, rather than as the pet of your captor, but of course, you couldn’t say that to him. Not when you’d worked so hard for the privilege of a tablet and your own little human corner.
“But it’s nothing big,” you continued, fearing he’d decide it was his fault. “Humans sometimes have days like this. Tomorrow should be better.”
He shook his head.
Did he not believe you? That was a terrifying thought, one with unpleasant consequences, and it sparked a flash of fear. Fortunately, that spark faded as quickly as it had appeared when an image popped up on his face — a silly meme of a cat holding a rose with hearts around it. You stared at the absurd sight for a moment, trying— and failing —to understand where, why, or how. Finally, you gave up. Laughter escaped you for the first time in a very, very long time. You knew you shouldn’t be laughing; this creature should never be a source of comfort, shouldn’t make you feel better by doing the bare minimum of showing you a silly meme made by some grandma.
But, unfortunately, he succeeded. For the first time in a long time, you didn’t feel so miserable, so pathetic and dull. You felt human.
“Okay, that was actually funny.”
The cat was replaced by a smiling face. His strange, flat hand moved toward you, but slowly, so as not to scare you. A slender finger stroked your head, gently, with silent affection, then slid down to your chin. It lingered there. The gesture was almost romantic as if performed by a lover rather than a giant, silent robot. The image on his face flickered, showing another picture—a heart.
There were so many things you didn’t know about this being. You didn’t know his motives or intentions, the reasons for his actions. You didn’t know what he was or what else he was capable of. But this intention was unmistakable.
Beneath his tenderness, beneath every gentle gesture, laid feelings for you. And that was more terrifying than unfamiliarity — because now you knew you’d never escape this place. You'd never escape him.
this is what he showed you btw:

A Space Journey
Part Two
Summary: New developments for Tyler. Reader and Tyler
Notes/Warnings: Mentions of fights in Tyler’s past. Esteem issues with Reader. Company induced angst with Tyler. Drinking. (Be safe and responsibly)
Runs long. It’s been writing itself. Ooh, he so deserved better.
❤️s, feedback, comments & reblogs are welcome!
Tyler, stood outside of the office. Opening and closing his hands, unease prickled him. The rain was particularly heavy today and he was more then happy to be out of it. He couldn’t imagine what they would want. He just had a very good salvage. They should be happy.
“Harrison, get in here.”
Turning sharply on his heal he went into the office. He bit the inside of his cheek when he saw a high ranking military officer and someone from the science office.
“You wanted to see me sir.” He kept his eye level straight. Just past the balding, company man that sat behind the desk and directed to to his salvages.
“Yes, Harrison. We’ve noticed you.”
The seat creaked as he sat back.
He felt his heart pick up speed.
“Me sir?”
The man nodded. “One of our bigger cargo ships has gone missing. It’s beacon recently came back online but no one is answering any of the coms we sent.”
The man gave an indifferent shrug.
“Perhaps, space pirates took it, raided it and killed the crew; we can’t be sure. But we want you to go and look into it.”
“When sir?”
“Fifteen days, Harrison.”
“If I may, depending on where it is why not send me now and perhaps I’ll come back faster then planned like with the Omega 17 salvage I just came back from.”
For a moment, a smug expression fell over his face. The pay day and his efficiency was superb. But he caught himself, and went back to a blank expression.
The man behind the desk chuckled.
“Told you guys, my boy is motivated.” The glanced at the two other men. “And he’s good. My best.” He gave him a smile. It made his stomach churn.
The military man stepped forward. “We believe, this time you will encounter hostiles.”
He pressed his lips together.
“Alright. I’ve never dealt with hostiles or anyone for that matter.”
“What about the few fights that led to a late night, dawn in one of the 4 by 10 rooms?” The man’s razor thin mouth cracked into a smirk that spread across his face.
This was beginning to sound like something he may not walk away from. He felt ill.
“Easy. You will get some training. You don’t get it, it doesn’t sink in before we need to ship out; we replace you.
“Hey, you said it would be my man we’re using.” The man behind the desk genuinely rankled.
Tyler never would have guessed that he cared one way or another.
The military officer shrugged. “My men will give you a rundown on how to handle yourself.”
“What about my crew?”
“Honestly? We are well aware of how important your family is to you, they can stay on the Corbelan IV, your cousin doesn’t need any help from us. Or we can give you a different crew.”
The man’s tone was as flat and as unforgiving as he looked.
“We don’t care as long as you accomplish what we want you for.”
“How’s the payout?”
The man behind the desk let out a chuckle. The military officer glanced down at him and back to him.
“If it all works out you will be able refit uthe Corbelan IV with the repairs its been needing and more.”
“Alright done.”
“Go to quadrant twenty seven at eight hundred hours tomorrow.”
********
Tyler, moved through throngs of people. Another miserable day in Jackson. His mind was a jumble. Did be really say yes?
“Baby want a good time?” Hand reached out, he grimaced and shook his head barely stopping.
He had to get out here. You all did. Damn, you had never even see anything else.
He was grateful, when he got to the Corbelan no one was there. He needed some time to think.
He plopped down in one of the chairs. It barely gave under his weight. But it would have to do. Looking out of the shuttered smudged window, he saw more dark clouds had rolled in bringing more rain.
He raked his fingers through his hair. He could do this. If he felt strong enough he’d bring the others along. How would he even explain using another crew.
He smirked to himself, at the idea of making some solid credit. They had wanted him. His eyes moved over the small sitting space. Grungy, cramped. Far too small. He rested a boot on the table.
Two small hands that had rough softness covered his eyes. A broad smile curled his lips.
“Guess who?”
He chuckled, tilting his head to one side. “My annoying sister.”
A peel of laughter came from above him.
“Guess again?“
“Oh! Oh! I know Navarro.”
“No!!!” You slipped to the side of him, hand on your hip.
“I knew it was you.”
He chuckled but as he looked you up and down, a smirk curled his lips. Damn. Even in your faded, torn company shirt and cargo pants you looked good.
“Looking good baby.”
You shrugged. “May I?“ Your eyes fell to his lap and back up to his eyes.
“Please.” He smirked pushing against the chair, it was unforgiving. So he could happily make room for you in his lap.
You easily made yourself comfortable. It relaxed him after what he had just gone through, good or bad. It had filled him with unease filled confidence if that was even possibly.
You wiggled more and then giggled.
“Tyler? Are you off world?”
Another giggle came from you.
His attention coming back to he rose an eyebrow as he saw you giving him a playfully serious look from under the shield of his cap. You were far too cute sometimes.
“Just the meeting I had.”
He made a face, mentally shrugging the feel off. He looked at you, cocking an eyebrow.
“Don’t think I didn’t notice.”
“What? Oh this?” You playfully placed your hands on his cap.
He motioned for it. “Give it back.”
“Nah, its comfy. I like it.”
He made a swipe for it. You avoided his hand and squealed.
Wrapping his arms around you he held you close. Easily snatched it off your head, pulled it onto his.
You were beginning to protest, when he dipped close and pressed his lips against. He felt a soft push before he felt you melt against him.
*******
Eyeing your reflection in the scrapped, mirror. You frowned. Even though the rain had let up and you all could walk to the bar with just ash and soot hanging in the air, your hair fell flat.
You had never been one to use taming spray. But it just looked so boring and dull. You had wanted to look good for Tyler.
Kay came bouncing up behind and gave you a tight embrace. You could smell the soft scent of the drinks she had been enjoying. She endearingly, pressed her head against yours.
“What’s the matter? Is my brother being insufferable?” Her eyes met yours in the mirror.
“No.” Your shoulders slumped. You patted her arms. “He’s great. I just don’t think I’m enough.”
She pulled back and turned you to face her. “What is this?” Her eyes were sharp with concern. “He adores you. I’ve never seen him so happy.” She chuckled. “So full of himself. He’s like I got the best so I am the best.” She smiled.
“Truly.”
“Yeah. I’ve never seen him so confident.” She looked playful. “If I didn’t like you so much, I would have pushed him out of the Corbelan long time ago.”
You smiled then. “If you say so.”
“I do.” She offered an arm. “Now, let’s get back out there! We have to get a few more dances in and have a few more drinks.” She gigglee.
“Yes!”
******
“One more.” He gave you a wink, taking the glass. “You gotta finish yours too.” His gestured to yours.
“Oh! I almost forgot.” You hopped onto the stool beside him, grabbing your own glass.
You glanced over at the small very jammed dance floor Kay was shimmying with some random blonde guy you once or twice saw in your sector of the mine. You had lost track of where Bjorn and Navarro were.
You looked back at Tyler in time to see him bringing the glass to his lips. In the hazy, warmth the drinks you had distantly made you jealous of the glass. Looking him over, you noticed how sweat prickled his dark strands, his cheeks were flushed and how he tilted his head back as easily drank the entirety of the glass.
A loud sigh came from him, slamming the glass down he wiped his mouth the back of his hand. “Ready?”
You nodded, happily taking his hand.
His hands were firm, as he held you to him. You fingers grazed through the shorter strands of where he shorn some of his hair. It was a wonderful contrast to the longer, soft strands.
You giggled softly as he leaned in close, his lips grazing your throat. He nipped at you. It made you wiggle against him.
“Man, I want you.” His voice rasped in your ear.
Moving just so. Loving how his scent enveloped the two of you. It pushed away the others or even the place.
“I will always be yours.” You whispered in his ear.
He pulled you even closer to him.
******
He rubbed his temples under the water beating down at him. He really shouldn’t have drank that much last night.
But then again, it was the night before the company owned more of him. He was doing this for you and the others. He had to keep telling himself this.
******
He swished the water and the paste in his mouth after scrubbing at his teeth. Might as well not look and smell like he had danced and drank the night away.
Going into the kitchen, he opened one of the containers and snatched up two blocks of the corn bread. Sighing, he munched on one. By the time he came back to his room. He placed the one he grabbed for you by the environment gauge and time giver.
Carefully, he pulled on his long sleeved, thermal shirt leaving the buttons undone, always felt strangled otherwise and then he pulled on a pair of his heavier socks. He looked back at you. He had wanted to tell you, more then he even wanted to tell Kay or Bjorn but right now, he couldn’t he had to get the feel of things.
A soft sound came from you, still asleep as you moved and settled onto your back. You had snagged one of his shirts. Seeing you in it, made him smile.
Looking away, he reached out and pulled over his boots. Another soft sound came from you. Maybe he should leave a note, but you and the others knew how sometimes he would leave early if he had a good lead on a new salvage. But this was different. He chewed the inside of his cheek.
“Tyler?” Your voice was soft, still heavy with sleep and he felt your hand on his back.
He put on a brave face, a winning smile
“Hi sleepy.”
“You are already leaving?”
He nodded. “Got to.”
“Ok.” He felt your hand leave his back. He shuffled a bit to face you more.
You looked back at him.
“Look you trust me right?”
You nodded.
“Good.” He chuckled softly. “Look I got some good things ahead. I promise.”
You pressed your lips together. “Good. Just be safe.”
“Me? Always.” He pointed at his table. “Look, I even nabbed your favorite. The corner of the corn bread.”
You smiled then. “Thank you.”
“Nothing but the best, I can give.”
You moved fast and hugged him tight. You tucked in under his chin.
“Baby?“ He without hesitation hugged you back.
“Had a nightmare.”
He squeezed you. “Nothing will get me.”
He felt as you nodded.
“Now you are one that’s gotta to be safe in the mine today.” He rubbed your back. “Take a tablet before you head out, to clear your head. I’ll get us some good rations for tonight.”
*******
A few hours in, sweat was running down his face. He rubbed his forehead with his arm. They prodded him, pricked him to draw his blood. Now, he was hooked up to something and he was running on some kind of device; it beeped in time with the beat of his heart. He could not wait to get back to you and the others.

how filling - che'nya x dom(ish) top amab reader
MINORS DNI
tags: che'nya exhibiting some yandere behavior, stuffing, emeto, mentions of sickness, implied fwb relationship, slightly under-negotiated kink a/n: unofficial sequel to this fic. you don't have to read it to enjoy this one, but there's some details that are carried over
Tumblr media
You’re smirking before Che’nya even opens the door, his genuine look of shock being just what you predicted.
“Surprise…”
“Wha-“ his wide yellow eyes blink slowly as if he thought you were a hallucination. You suppose this is your first time visiting him at the Royal Sword Academy, and it gives you satisfaction knowing you’ve caught him off guard for once.
“Gonna invite me in, kitty? You know I’m really not supposed to be here, so there’s no telling what goody two shoes might report me.” You glance down the dorm hallway, which is thankfully still vacant. Unfortunately, you don’t have Che’nya’s disappearing ability, which allows him to be effortlessly sneaky.
“You never need an invitation” he eyes you curiously as he steps back to let you in, wrapping himself tighter in the blanket that’s draped over his shoulders. You swiftly step inside allowing yourself to scan the dimly lit room, which you’ve only seen in pictures and video calls. Considering you are childhood friends, one would think you would have visited him at some point during the three years you’ve been enrolled at separate schools, but he dropped in on you so frequently there was never a need to.
“How are you feeling?” You set down the bag you brought on his desk. You had brought him some food since he had told you he was slowly getting his appetite back.
“A bit better I suppose” he pouts slightly shuffling back over to his bed. “I’m going to start going back to classes tomorrow.”
“Oh really?” You join him on his bed, and you notice his soft look of surprise when you leave no distance between you two. “I hope you’re not pushing yourself to go back too soon. Someone has been bringing you your work, no?” You can’t help but reach out a hand to try to assess his condition yourself. You press the back of your hand to his forehead, and it feels normal, but you press it to his cheek for good measure. He purrs at your actions, holding your hand against his cheek as he nuzzles into it further.
“You’re not worried about getting sick?” Che’nya looks more like himself than ever glancing up at you seductively with a smirk on his face. “Or maybe you just missed me too much.”
“Says the one who’s texted me nonstop telling me how miserable he is and complained that he had no one to take care of him.”
“No one as fun as you at least” he teasingly kisses the back of your hand that he’s still holding against his face.
“You really must be feeling better” you surmise. If he hadn’t sent you pictures of him looking peakish or voice messages of his terribly hoarse voice, you might believe he exaggerated his sickness to get you to come over. Though you were still suspicious of his intentions when he sent you a picture of him in his bed yesterday, dressed in lingerie and claiming to be “sooo bored.” You couldn’t deny part of you hoped that same lingerie was hidden under his blanket now.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t able to come over when you were sicker”
“It’s okay. I didn’t expect you to come at all, but I’m glad you did” he gives you a toothy grin. “And you brought me something” his eyes glance over to the bag you brought, ears twitching with anticipation.
“Don’t get too excited. I just thought you might like a home cooked meal now that you’re eating more. You are keeping your food down now, right?”
“You made me food?” The second part of your sentence gets ignored as the thought of you preparing something for him evidently fills his head. His starry-eyed gaze keeps shifting from you to the bag, so you figure you might as well offer it to him now, which he readily accepts.
“It’s not anything special. You know I’m not much of a cook, so I just made you your favorite stew and also a strawberry tart, but you don’t have to eat it today of course” Your humble words do nothing to dull his excitement, his eager eyes never leaving you as you take out the stew and use your magic to heat it for him.
“Here you go” You try to hand him the bowl, but he gives you a sly look exposing his bare chest as he pulls his arms out of his blanket.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t seem to have any spare hands at the moment” he shrugs his shoulders as he displays his arms that seemingly have no hands attached.
“How curious…” you steal his common phrase giving him a knowing look. “I guess I’ll have to feed it to you then.”
“I guess so…” Che’nya looks at you innocently, but you can imagine the playful flick of his tail being concealed by his blanket.
He happily accepts spoonfuls of stew, letting out occasional hums of pleasure between bites. Before you know it, he’s cleaned out the bowl and is asking for the strawberry tart. You attempt to get him to hold off to ensure the stew settles well in his stomach, but he insists he’s fine, so you get out the tart.
“And you made this?” The hunger in his eyes appears deeper than a desire for food.
“Yeah. Trey had a busy week, so I didn’t want to bother him with it. I followed his recipe though, so I think it turned out well”
“I’m sure it’s delicious” he assures you. “Especially since you were thinking of me while baking it” he doesn’t even try to veil his delight over the thought. He opens his mouth expectantly and you feed him a bite, choosing not to comment on the reappearance of his hands.
“Mmmm,” he licks his lips as if to savor every crumb. You offer him bite after bite which he chomps on happily.
“Okay maybe we should stop here, and that way you’ll have some more for later.”
“No” he whines. “It’s so good. I don’t want to stop.” He looks at you through his lashes pleading with you. “Please, feed me more.” Against your better judgment, you give in to him.
“Ok… but if you push yourself too far, that’s on you” you warn giving him another bite. He lets out an approving nod, humming happily. You can’t deny it does stir something in you seeing him eat your food so earnestly. You believe your own eyes must be filled with hunger when the blanket slips off his body, revealing him to only be wearing boxers. The band sits below his stomach which has a noticeable bulge.
He rubs it lazily as he takes longer breaks between bites. You assume he’s getting full based on his deeper breathing, but he has yet to refuse a bite, his soft smile never leaving his face. While he seems as content as ever you find yourself shifting in your spot, trying to ignore the feeling of your cock straining against your pants.
You came here as a friend you try to remind yourself, but the praise that falls from Che’nya’s lips doesn’t help your situation.
“Mmmm, I missed being able to eat properly, but now you’ve ruined other food for me. How am I supposed to enjoy anything when I know I could have your cooking instead? It feels so good being full of your food, so you have to cook for me more, okay?” He rubs his belly with both hands as if admiring the bulge himself.
“My belly would definitely get bigger if I got to eat your cooking all the time” he giggles to himself. “Wouldn’t you like to see that” He looks at you suggestively, and you can hardly hold yourself back any longer, moving your body so that you’re straddling his lap. He looks at you with amused curiosity, gently bucking up against you when you rub your hands across his stomach just like he was doing moments prior.
“I would actually” you smirk “But for now, how about you eat these last two bites for me”
“If that’s what you want” he whines a bit when you move your hands, but he looks at you with heavy lust as he wraps his lips around the fork you offer him. He pants slightly as he licks his lips, and you can’t help but offer him the last bite straight from your hands.
He doesn’t immediately take your fingers in his mouth, which is how you know he is reaching his limit. He takes a moment, seemingly steeling himself for the last bite, but eventually opens his mouth allowing you to place the last piece of tart inside. He closes his lips around your fingers, making sure to lick the tip of your fingers before he chews the bite in his mouth.
“Look at you, kitty. You actually ate it all” You go back to rubbing his stomach, letting your fingers drift a little higher to tease his nipples.
“Ah,” he lightly gasps. “I know I could fit more” he slightly lifts his hips so he can slowly grind against you.
“I should have known you’d be insatiable, even when you’re still recovering.” You lean back, letting your fingers lightly trace the stain of precum that marks his boxers. He’s all too eager to help you take off his only piece of clothing. He hisses in pleasure when you finally take him in your hand, but he’s quick to insist you rid yourself of your clothes too.
Just as eager to feel his touch, you don’t argue, swiftly getting off him so you can fulfill his request. You lay beside him now, his hands immediately going to stroke you. Your intermingled moans fill the space between you as you get each other off. You take your other hand and rub it against his tip, causing his hips to jerk. His head falls against your shoulder as he lets out a strangled moan, and you continue your movements.
“Please… I’m ready for you…” he manages to pant out. “…wanna be full.”
“I don’t know if you should take me.” You can’t help but still be concerned about his limits.
“But I wan-“ He interrupts his own sentence with a cough, barely managing to cover his mouth. He pauses for a moment, but another harsh cough racks his body, most likely remnants of the sickness he had. He slowly sits up, facing away from you as he sits at the edge of the bed. Even though he stopped coughing, he still sits frozen, hand covering his mouth.
“Che’nya?” you have a feeling you know what’s wrong and those thoughts are soon confirmed when he starts his next coughing fit. Instead of covering his mouth, he instantly reaches for the wastebin by his bed that’s half filled with tissues. He clutches it tightly his cough suddenly turning into retching.
At the sound of him emptying his stomach into the wastebin, you quickly move so that you’re by his side. You soothingly rub his back as he continues to vomit, waiting patiently for him to get it all out.
“Fuck” he rasps out, a trail of saliva still hanging from his bottom lip and tears dotting the corner of his eyes. He wipes his mouth then takes a deep breath as he looks up, closing his eyes. Your hand that’s on his back drifts up to the nape of his neck where you twirl a piece of his hair around your finger.
“This is where you say I told you so” he looks at you from the corner of his eye, managing a small smirk. He doesn’t even wait for you to answer, softly chuckling to himself. “But I would do it again”
“My food was that good, huh?” There’s doubt laced in your words.
“Hmmmhmmm” he hums, his eyes are closed again, and you wonder if he’s feeling another wave of nausea, but he puts the wastebin back on the floor instead. “What can I say? I’ll always want all of you”
“I know” are the words you choose to say after a beat of silence. Instead of further acknowledging his feelings you bring a hand to his stomach, rubbing small and gentle circles across his abdomen.
He lets out a sound that is both a sigh and a moan. You haven’t even touched his nipples and yet he seems to be turned on, his dick twitching. “I think I want you to fill me up even more now” he admits.
“If that’s what you want” you graze your finger over his nipple while planting a kiss on his shoulder. His breathing becomes ragged as you tease his skin between your teeth. You play with his chest for a bit longer before asking him where he keeps his lube.
Che'nya lays on his side, massaging his stomach as he waits for you. Despite his flushed face, his tail still moves with eager anticipation as you settle in your place behind him. He's quieter than usual, only making a soft pleased sound as you push your fingers into him.
“More” he begs, and you oblige, finally lining your cock up with his entrance.
“Let me know if you need me to stop” you remind him before pushing your tip in. You slowly bottom out waiting until he gasps for you to move to continue with your thrusts.
“Fuck…you feel so hot and tight around me, kitty” You snap your hips into him a bit harder. “It feels so good”
“Ah- “ Che’nya grips his bedsheets tighter, and you hear a gurgling sound come from his stomach.
“Don’t stop” he whimpers feeling you hesitate. You place your hand on his stomach and feeling it rumble beneath your touch, you fuck into him with new fervor.
“Aghh” he gasps and leans over off the bed just in time for a thin stream of vomit to make it mostly into the wastebin. With Che’nya’s walls squeezing tightly around you, you reach your climax with a couple more thrusts. He holds your hand that rests on his stomach and whines as he feels you fill him up.
Keeping yourself buried in him, you move your other hand to his cock to help him finish, which only takes a few strokes. You take in his dazed expression and faint smile, feeling an urge to kiss his sweat slicked skin. He whimpers at the feeling of your lips on his neck, his classic Cheshire grin appearing as you trail slow kisses up his jawline.
“Yup,” he sighs blissfully. “I would definitely do it again”

The Daughter's Return Part 3
Chapter 8: Promises Broken...
Start From Beginning | Next Chapter | Table of Contents | Read on AO3
A second part will be posted tomorrow :) Characters: female reader x Portgas D. Ace Word Count: 1.4k
Over the next few days, you traversed the Alabastan Desert with the Stawhats. Ace occasionally gave you piggyback rides, and sometimes you rode on the perverted camel, but mostly you walked.
Walking gave you something to focus on. When your mind wandered, that’s when the fear crept in. So even though you were hot and miserable, you preferred walking to the alternatives.
Ace even let you wear his most treasured hat so you could keep the sun out of your eyes and avoid sunburn.
The journey was long, but it wasn’t uneventful. You learned more about Vivi and the Kingdom of Alabasta. She told you stories of her admirable undercover work in Baroque Works, and your heart hurt for her and her country.
Nami told you about her tangerines and how she wanted to draw a map of the entire world. From what you had seen, she was an excellent navigator and had a way with reading the weather that you had never seen before.
Usopp told you about stories that were too crazy to believe, and you offered up some of your actual stories in return.
Chopper talked to you about vitamins, and though you didn’t tell him exactly what was going on, he gave you a lot of medicinal herb remedies you could use in the future for morning sickness and other ailments.
Zoro didn’t talk much, but you did admire his swords. Izou had taught you how to handle swords when you were young; a skill that you had further refined in Wano, and you were able to impress the mossy-haired swordsman with a few moves.
You helped Sanji cook occasionally, preparing ingredients when you saw he was going to need them. It reminded you of how you helped Thatch in the kitchen, and you tried not to be too sad over the thought of never doing it with him again.
Luffy stuck by Ace most of the time, the two of them exchanging stories. You liked to sit and listen to their tales of childhood, and Ace told Luffy plenty of stories about his time on your father’s ship. They deeply cared for each other, which softened your heart. Ace rarely opened up to people in the way he opened up to the Strawhats, and you found yourself thoroughly enjoying everyone’s company.
When you finally found the man who claimed to have Teach, you weren’t surprised to discover he was a fraud. You were a little disappointed to realize you would actually have to leave Luffy and his crew, though. You had grown very fond of them all.
“Let’s go in the morning,” Ace begged. “One more night with them all?”
“Sure.” You grinned, knowing he was just as sad to leave as you were.
He plopped a sloppy kiss on your cheek and got up to stretch.
“Be right back,” he said, sauntering off to talk to a few other crew mates.
“I still can’t believe Ace joined a crew,” Luffy said, shaking his head. “This Whitebeard guy can’t be that great!”
You laughed at his comment, your eyes on Ace as you watched him talk to Chopper. “He’s a good guy, Luffy. I think you’d like him if you met him.”
“He has to be a good guy.” Luffy sighed and fell back into the sand. “Ace wouldn’t respect him if not. Ace doesn’t like anybody.”
Your eyes finally broke away from Ace, and you looked at Luffy in confusion. “What are you talking about, Luffy? Ace likes everybody!”
“No way!” He huffed. “He tried to kill me when he first met me! He tried to kill me a lot!”
You thought about how Ace mentioned he had tried to kill your father long ago. That version of Ace lined up a lot more with what Luffy was saying.
“I think pops beat it out of him.” Your eyes ventured back to Ace, who was now talking to Sanji. You wished he was back by your side. It was getting cold without him.
“He seems happy,” Luffy said, so quiet it was almost a whisper. “I think you did that to him.”
“Me?!” you laughed. “I make his life infinitely harder, Luffy. Trust me.” You resisted the urge to put your hand to your stomach at that thought.
“Nah.” Luffy sat up and shook his head, sending sand everywhere. “He really loves you. I can tell.”
“How can you tell?”
Luffy hummed, deep in thought. “Well, he would-”
“Got you some tea,” Ace said, interrupting his brother. “How are you feeling?”
“Better.” You snuggled into his arms, letting his warmth wrap around you as you gripped your teacup.
You looked back at Luffy to hear the rest of his answer, but the boy was already off laughing with another crewmember. Whatever he was going to say was long gone.
It was a joyous night gathered around the campfire, but it was short lived. Everyone was exhausted, and you were barely able to keep your eyes open near the end.
“We can go to bed,” Ace offered, smirking at you as you nodded off.
“No,” you groaned, resting your head on his warm shoulder. “S’our last night…”
“Come on,” he whispered, picking you up and taking you over to your all’s sleeping bags that were a good distance from the rest of the camp. “You need a good night's sleep.”
“Mmmkay,” you hummed, curling up into the sleeping bag. “Come here. You’re so warm.”
“Did you drink all your tea?” Ace brushed the hair away from your face as you hummed with delight.
“It was really good, thank you.”
Ace watched you closely, waiting for you to go to sleep. “I love you so much. You know that, right?”
“Of course,” you mumbled, a sleepy smile ghosting across your face. “I love you too, Acey.”
Ace bit his lip, holding back his emotions. He gave you a soft kiss on the forehead, and by the time he pulled away, you were softly snoring.
You had drank all of the sleeping medicine he had put in your tea. With any luck, you would be out until morning. By then, he’d be long gone.
He slipped his hand into your bag, and pulled out your stack of vivre cards. He shuffled through each one, until he found a small piece of paper with his name on it, covered in hearts that you had drawn across the entire slip of paper. Ace quickly removed it from the pile and shoved it in his pocket, putting all of your other cards back into your bag.
He bent down and gave you one more kiss, and when you didn’t stir, he walked over to the dying campfire. Only Luffy and Nami were still awake, both sitting in silence as they watched the coals.
“Here, Luffy.” Ace handed him a new blank slip of paper. “Whatever you do, don’t tell Y/N you have that.”
“This?” Luffy examined the paper, but it was blank. “What is it?”
“We’ll use it to find each other again one day. When we’re both big named pirates.”
Luffy frowned. “It’s just a piece of paper, though.”
“Do you not want it?”
“No,” Luffy said. “I’ll keep it.”
“Are you leaving now?” Nami asked. “It’s the middle of the night.”
“Yeah, I’ve got to get a head start and get the Striker ready.” Ace gave a longing glance back at you. “When she wakes up, can you hand her this?” He passed off a transponder snail to Luffy.
“Sure,” Luffy said. “But don’t you just want to take her along now?”
“Nah,” Ace said. “She knows where I’m going. She needs to rest. Just leave her until morning. And look after her, will you? Make her travel with you guys until you get back to your ship. I’ll meet her in Nanohana”
“Okay!” Luffy said.
“Don’t mention that paper, Luffy. I’m serious. She’ll take it from you.”
“But it’s mine!”
“So put it somewhere safe.”
“This doesn’t make any sense,” Nami said, her frown deepening. “Ace, if you’re meeting her in back in Nanohana, you should just-”
Ace ignored Nami, not wanting her to think too hard about his false plan. “Next time I see you, Luffy, we’ll both be top pirates!”
“Deal!” Luffy said.
And then Ace was gone, disappearing into the night, leaving you blissfully unaware of the unforgivable thing he had just done.

You set down your pen after finalising your last report of the night, eagerly you start to gather your stuff up at your desk to head home. You all had been moved to the night shift after rescuing Holt and Jake from Florida. It was causing a real strain on everyone’s mood, everyone was miserable and lacking all sources of happiness, you had undoubtedly learned your lesson. Once your bag was packed you stand up stretching your legs and scanning the floor. You eyes dart over to Amy’s desk to find her hunched over paperwork. You make your way over to her and place a gentle hand on her back.
“Hey, Ames. Shift is over.”
“I know,” she sighs. “Just got so much to do I can barely register anything.” She looks up at you with dark, tired eyes.
“How about you leave it for tomorrow? Come on I’ll take you home.”
“I don’t know… if I leave it I’ll have double the work tomorrow night,”
“I’ll help,”
“No, I can’t ask you to do that,” Amy insists, turning her focus back to the paperwork.
“You’re not asking, I’m offering. Now come on let’s go. Everyone else is gone, you need to rest.”
Amy takes a minute, looking between you and her paperwork as if deciding which is more important. Eventually she drops her pen and makes a move to start clearing up her desk. The two of you make your way out of the precinct and down to the carpark. You sit in a comfortable silence as you drive, it was always simple when you were with Amy. You didn’t have to force conversation or fabricate reality, she understood you perfectly and you appreciated that more than words could describe. There was something about her that made you feel warm, protected and appreciated. Maybe it was the way she looked at you, maybe it was the way she listened to you rant, maybe it was the way her intelligence inspired you. But it was something, a connection maybe, you’ve never believed in soulmates, but when you met Amy that changed. She was your soulmate, no matter your circumstance with her. There was nothing she could do to make you feel indifferent.
“Can we stop to get coffee?” Amy asked, drawing your attention back to the present.
“Yes, God knows we need it.” You smile.
You pull into the nearest coffee shop, Amy runs in to get it and you wait in the spot. From the window you can see her, even exhausted and overworked she radiates kindness. Even watching her interact with the barista has you smiling, you’ve always tried to push down your feelings, marking it as a childish crush. Besides even if you did tell her how you felt it would be pointless, Amy was strictly into men. You were almost certain there was something brewing between her and Jake, maybe that was far fetched but everyone else seemed to think so, as did you even if that made you want to curl into a pit blackness.
“You keep drifting off, everything okay?” Amy said as she got into the car handing you your coffee.
“Oh, yeah no I’m fine. Just tired.”
Amy just smiles, taking a sip from her coffee as you continue your drive.
“Hey, thanks for this, I need to talk to someone other than a criminal.” Amy laughed softly.
“Honestly same, everyone is so clearly done with this. I hope we’re put back onto days soon, I haven’t seen daylight in weeks.”
“Me too. But really thank you, I really appreciate you.”
“Of course, what are friends for?” You smiled, she gave you a short nod, turning her attention out the window.
She sighs then turns back to you, “I want to ask you something, but you have to hear me out. I may be way off, but I can’t keep this in anymore.”
“Okay, is everything alright?”
“Yeah fine.” She bites her lip then looks at you, “I like you I’ve liked you for a long time now, but I’ve been too scared to tell you. I don’t want to lose our friendship and you mean so much to me and I really really want to try this- oh my god I mean do you even like girls? I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said anything-”
“Amy.” You cut her off, just as you pull up to her apartment complex. You take her hand. “Breathe.”
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said anything.”
“No. I’m glad you did,” you run your thumb gently over her hand, “I feel the same, I really really like you.” You smile at her, your eyes bearing into hers. “But I thought you had something with Jake..”
Amy furrows her eyebrows, shooting you a baffled expression. “Jake?!”
“Well- actually I can’t justify it.”
“You’re really bad at reading signals, huh?”
“Shut up,” you laugh, your cheeks flushing ever so slightly.
“How about on Saturday, when we’re off you come around? I can make dinner?” Amy suggests.
“Yeah, I’d really like that.” You smile, a little too obnoxiously.
“Okay, cool cool cool. See you there.”
You both share an awkward hug which leads to you both furiously blushing like teenagers, you watched Amy get out of the car and of course laughed at her embarrassed wave goodbye. The whole way home you were smiling like an idiot, the events replaying in your mind.
════════════════
You ran your hand through your hair again before knocking on Amy’s door, you stand with your hand at your side, the other holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Amy answers the door, looking rather distressed. She doesn’t wait around and rushes back into the kitchen. You follow her, extremely concerned.
“Ames? Is everything okay?” You set the flowers down and look around the kitchen, there were pots everywhere things clearly went wrong.
“No. I ruined dinner, God I’m so sorry. I wanted this to be perfect and now it’s unsolvable.” She sighs, eyes prickling with tears.
“It can’t be that bad? Maybe we can salvage what’s not ruined?” You say, trying to seem optimistic.
“Oh it’s definitely not salvageable.” Amy picks up a wooden spoon inside a pot, except out can the spoon and a block of what you assumed to previously have been sauce.
“…oh, well that’s only sauce?”
Amy opens the oven which fills the entire room with black smoke, you immediately open the window and she gets a towel to blow the smoke away. You bite your lip to stifle your laugh but making eye contact with Amy makes the both of you burst out laughing.
“I’m sorry, this is truly not how I excepted things to pan out.” Amy sighs, before you could reply she was crying.
Immediately you rushed to her side and pulled her into a tight hug, gently you run a hand up and down her back to sooth her. You felt sorry for her, it was clear she put a lot of effort into this just for it to not work out.
“This doesn’t have to mean our entire night is ruined. Why don’t you go get ready, I’ll clean up in here. Take your time we’re in no rush.”
Amy pulled back to look at you, you wiped the tears from her eyes and she softly smiled. “Are you sure? We don’t have to, we can reschedule or something.”
“No come on, I’m already here.”
“Okay, but really you don’t have to clean up. I’ll do that, it’s not your mess.”
“Ames. I don’t care about cleaning the mess. Just get ready, I wouldn’t offer if I didn’t want to.”
Amy went to get ready and you cleaned the kitchen, as you were putting away the final dish she walked into the kitchen. She was wearing a sheer blue and black flowered blouse with a pencil skirt. You knew you were staring but you couldn’t help it, she looked so beautiful, so effortlessly radiant.
“Ames,” you exhaled. “You look gorgeous.”
She blushed as she walked over to you and wrapped her arms around your neck, your hands naturally rested at her waist. Your foreheads pressed together until she moved her lips onto yours, you pulled her closer and the kiss intensified. When you pulled away you both were blushing.
“Wait, I got lipstick on you.” Amy giggle and wiped her lipstick from your upper lip.
You swear you could have melted under her touch right there, but you knew you needed to collect yourself. You cleared your throat and Amy laughed. The two of you headed to the restaurant and got seated in a booth.
“Again I’m sorry, I had planned for a really nice meal and something more fun than a boring very ordinary restaurant.”
“No, it’s fine. This is still nice, besides it doesn’t matter what we do, we’re together that’s plenty fun.”
“Look at you being all sappy and motivational. I didn’t take you for the type.” Amy teased.
“I’m not usually, guess you bring it out in me.” You winked.
Amy just playfully rolled her eyes in response. The whole date may have started chaotically and completely gone to shit, but in the end you had a better time than you’d ever have dreamed of. Being with Amy truly was a thrill, the addition of knowing she liked you only emphasised that.

The Christmas lights flicker on and off too quickly, nearly erratically. The colors are too bright too, grating on Levi’s nerves and worsening his headache.
He’d run to another room, just to escape them, but the problem is - they’re in every goddamned room. Levi hanged them all himself, with meticulousness and care, with hope that someone would appreciate his efforts.
But the message on his phone says that all his efforts have gone to waste.
Something came up, I don’t think I’ll manage to get home for Christmas. Sorry!
Levi read that message and had half a mind to go and rip off all of these pretty Christmas lights, throw down the Christmas tree, get rid of all the Santa Clauses and elfs standing atop the fireplace. What’s the point of all of these decorations, what’s the point of Christmas itself if the one Levi wants to spend it with isn’t with him?
But, perhaps, Hange did rub off on him, and in all the wrong ways possible, because he does not rip off the Christmas lights, does not throw away the Christmas tree or get rid of the elfs. He doesn’t even kick the damned stockings Hange was so adamant on hanging above the fireplace.
A part of Levi - a childish, foolish, pathetic part of him, the very same one he’s sure had grown stronger since he’d met Hange, still hopes, expects them to waltz in through the door, with cheeks red from cold, covered in snow from head to toe and a smile brighter than all the Christmas lights in the whole world.
A part of Levi still waits for the Christmas miracle, even though he hadn’t believed in their existence even as a child.
Levi checks his phone once again, sees the absence of new messages and sighs, standing up from the couch and turning away from the too bright lights. His Christmas miracle shows no signs of appearing any time soon, and Levi would have felt angry, he feels like he ought to feel angry, but– didn’t he know what he was getting himself into? When he said ‘I do’ at the altar, when all these years ago he agreed to go on a date with Hange, didn’t he know what they were like? Didn’t he know that something like that one day would inevitably happen?
He knew full well how Hange was, what they were like. Passionate and dedicated, obsessed with their work to the point of skipping meals and sacrificing their sleep, Levi knew what his life with Hange would be like. He knew he’d always come second, he’d never be Hange’s number one priority. But as it turned out - simply knowing and actually experiencing what it feels like to be side-lined are two very different things.
After all, he knew what he was getting himself into. So, the disappointment and the hollow, aching feeling in his chest is no one’s fault, but his.
And, worse of all, he can’t even get mad at them. He feels slighted, yes, and neglected too, but he does not, cannot, be angry with Hange.
Levi sighs again and puts the phone down. He may be miserable and lonely but that doesn’t mean he wants to ruin his friends’ party because of it.
He twirls his phone in his hands, thinks about texting Erwin and asking if he can come and crush his and Mike’s party. Sitting all alone in his apartment that feels especially cold and quiet without Hange definitely won’t cheer him up, and, maybe, some alcohol and friendly chatter would help him relax and forget about his own misery, but– Levi knows himself too well. No amount of alcohol or merry conversations will actually help him. There is only one remedy to his sadness, and this remedy– is half a world away.
Maybe, what can help him elevate at least a bit of this overwhelming melancholy is a cup of tea. Maybe, along with the cookies that he baked for Hange before he knew that Hange won’t be there to eat them. And a generous dose of whiskey that will put him to sleep earlier than usual.
And, maybe, tomorrow will be a better day. Levi severely doubts that, but well– maybe, Christmas miracles truly do exist.
And is coming from the living room.
With that goal in mind, he starts moving towards the kitchen. He turns the light on, fills the kettle with water, but just as he means to put it on the stove– he hears a noise. A noise that quickly turns into a full-blown ruckus.
Levi immediately darts there, eyes searching for something that can pose as a weapon. If that is some unlucky burglar who decided to sour his mood even further, well– Levi will sour their mood in return.
He picks up a chair and approaches the fireplace, which seems to be the source of the commotion. A loud bang echoes through the room, rising up a cloud of dust in its wake, and Levi jumps closer, lifting the chair and ready to strike.
Levi’s eyes widen and he blinks, blinks, blinks. What he sees… cannot be real, right? Who he sees… they cannot be here, right?
Something fell down the chimney, something that upon closer look Levi identifies as someone. Someone in a red suit and hat, with a smile brighter than all the Christmas lights in the entire world.
“Merry Christmas!” Hange cries out in a voice that’s somewhere in between their usual joyful one and low, deep one that’s probably meant to be an impression of Santa Claus. Which Hange is dressed as. Levi feels like in a middle of a fever dream. “And happy, happy birthday!”
Levi blinks once more. This definitely cannot be real.
Hange’s smile widens, as they leap to their feet and inch towards him. Their smile widens further, turning into a grin and then erupting into chuckles as they notice the chair that Levi belatedly realizes he’s still holding.
“What’s that for?” they nod their head at it. “Were you going to hit me?”
“I thought you were a burglar,” it comes out way gruffer than he intended, but then again, Hange did deserve it. He really did think they were a burglar. And he did think they weren’t coming home. And that wound still stings. “And you said you aren’t going back for Christmas.”
“Oh, that?” Hange scratches the back of their head with what almost resembles shame. “I just wanted you to surprise you.”
Putting the chair down, Levi crosses arms on his chest, narrowing his eyes at them. “So you lied to do that?”
“Well, I didn’t really think about it that way but–”
“And you dressed up as Santa, and went up to the roof and down the fucking chimney, just to surprise me?”
“Like I said, I’m–”
“An idiot, I know that already,” Levi grunts out, masking very carefully the warm feeling that starts spreading through his chest. Hange did all that, just for him. Hange kept their word, came home, just for him. Hange is here, with him, and he couldn’t have asked for more. But, despite all that, they’re an idiot, so Levi decides to scold them just a little more. “What if you fell down and broke your damn neck?” he comes closer to them, wiping away a line of grime on their cheek with gentleness he cannot hide anymore. “Spending Christmas in a hospital would have been truly unforgettable.”
“Hey!” Hange protests, even as they lean into his touch. “I didn’t fall down, did I?”
“Fool’s luck, I guess.”
Hange makes a face at that and opens their mouth, probably meaning to start spouting some nonsense Levi doesn’t really want to hear right now.
So, he leans closer and cuts them off by whispering “Shut up,” right into their lips.
Hange gets the hint, thankfully. They grin and wrap a hand around his hip. “Someone’s eager for their birthday kiss, eh?”
Levi decides not to dignify that with an answer. Why confirm the obvious, if instead of that, he can do something that much more pleasant, like claiming the kiss that he’s very eager for, yes, and that he rightfully deserves?
He does just that - puts his hand on Hange’s cheek and pulls them into a kiss. It’s soft and gentle, it’s so full of love that Levi feels weak in knees. It makes his fingers tingle and fills him with so many feelings that he can’t even decipher them.
He could spend a night like that - just kissing Hange, hell, he could spend a whole life like that and die a happy man, but Hange’s covered in grime and dust and, honestly, they stink a little too.
He pulls back from them, a small smile appearing on his face at the displeased whine that escapes Hange’s lips.
“Go take a bath,” he says, caressing their cheek briefly before taking a step back.
“And then?”
“And then I’ll make us tea and you’ll eat the cookies I made for you.”
“Oh, and then?”
“And then,” Levi throws over his shoulder, as he starts walking towards the kitchen, “We’ll go to the bedroom, where I’ll get a second gift.”
“What was the first?”
Levi turns to look at Hange, showing them a smile he reserves just for them. “It was you, coming home for Christmas.”
The brilliant smile they give him in return, Levi thinks, is precious enough to him to be considered a third gift.

“Stop fidgeting, girl. Damn,” Lauren grabbed Charlotte’s hands as her team finished getting her into her dress.
Charlotte’s eyes clenched shut. “Sorry, sorry! I’m just freaking the fuck out.”
“Relax, sis. This is super low stakes. Just be charming and yourself,” Law, her stylist, reminded her as he examined her look. “Alright, she’s ready.”
Charlotte glanced over to herself in the mirror and smiled. “You did it again, Law. This is perfect. You really got the old Hollywood glam mood perfectly.”
He shrugged and smiled. “I know your aesthetic. And it’ll compliment Michael’s look. I talked to his stylist the other day. Perfect teaser for the press tour in the fall. You two will be everyone’s favorite movie couple when it’s all said and done.”
Charlotte merely smiled awkwardly and nodded, a nauseating feeling overcoming her. Her hand pressed into her stomach, the detailing on her tight gown digging into her palm as she took a few deep breaths. As the realization that she was mere minutes away from seeing Michael settled in, her breathing became shallow and her heart started to beat loudly in her ears, drowning out the other sounds of her hotel room.
“Hey y’all,” Lo called out, getting everyone’s attention. “Can I just have two minutes with her before y’all do pictures?”
Everyone filed out, giving Charlotte a moment alone. Lauren rubbed her shoulders.
“I-I can’t do this… H-He probably hates me. W-what if he hates me?” Her words were frantic and frenzied as she spoke to her best friend.
“Baby girl, look at me,” she followed Charlotte’s eyes until they were on hers, which were filled with sympathy and love. “No one who has ever met you has hated you, I can promise you that. You’re amazing. It’s gonna be ok. You are strong, you are fearless. You can and have faced the unimaginable. So this is a piece of cake. I know you're a bad bitch… he knows you're a bad bitch. Hell, you're the only one who doesn't girl,” she laughed, causing Charlotte’s frown to turn into a small smile. “Say it back to me.”
Charlotte rolled her eyes and chuckled nervously, her voice still tight. “I’m not gonna say that, Lo.”
“You aren’t leaving this room till you say it so let’s get to it, bitch. I have date night, I don't have allllllll day.”
“I’m a bad bitch.”
“That was pathetic. Again!”
“I’m a bad bitch!” Charlotte yelled out, laughing with her friend and immediately feeling some of the tension leave her body.
Lauren squeezed both of her hands before wrapping her in a hug. “Now just believe that and you got this. You know how you feel about him and how he feels about you. Trust that and go get that fine ass man, ok?”
Charlotte sighed and smiled. “What would I do without you, Lo?”
“Be a lot more miserable,” she winked at her before giving her a quick peck on the cheek. “Gotta go meet your brother. Have lots of fun and we'll see you tomorrow to hear all about it.”
“Will do.” She paused for a moment as Lauren grabbed her purse and walked toward the door. “Hey Lauren!” Her friend turned and glanced back at her. “Thank you.”
Lauren’s face twisted up in confusion for a moment. “For what?”
Charlotte shrugged. “Just for… being you. If you weren’t married to my brother, I would’ve snagged you up.”
“Girl, you tryin’ to run to Vegas? I’ll drop him for you in a minute.” She winked at her and offered her one final nod of encouragement before she exited, allowing Charlotte’s team to reenter.
They made quick work of her pre-event photos before ushering her into the car to drive to the venue. Charlotte focused on the music filling her ears, quietly singing along in the backseat with her eyes closed. Music was her respite and her opportunity to get lost in something other than her cluttered mind.
“Ok we are two minutes out. Mike just arrived so he is gonna hang back so you can walk the carpet together,” her agent muttered.
Charlotte nodded, taking her headphones out and handing her phone to Tamika since she could not walk down the carpet with it.
“Gonna take photos for a bit, one interview and then you’ll go to your seats. Ok?”
“Sounds good.”
She took a couple of deep breathes, silently chatting Lauren’s mantra before her car door opened. It took a few moments of maneuvering and help to get her out of the car in her form-fitting dress and stilettos. She looked like a knock out, but she was still getting used to high-profile events and clothes that sacrificed functionality for fashion.
She took a moment to steady herself on her feet before starting to walk toward the edge of the carpet where Michael waited. His back was to her but she would recognize that silhouette anywhere. She kept her eyes trained on other targets as she moved closer and closer to him, her heart rate beating faster and faster with every step she took.
She continued to repeat Lauren’s words in her head but with each round, they were drowned out by doubt and fear as she came face to face with him for the first time in months.
However, as if the universe was destined to make this the worst night of her life, just as she got close to Michael, her impossibly tall heels caught a snag in the carpet. Charlotte let out a yelp as she felt herself hurling face first toward the hard concrete.
“Shit!” She panicked realizing there was no one and nothing to grab to break her fall.
However, before she could face plant in front of a row of journalists and photographers, she fell directly into two strong arms and against a familiar hard chest.
Her hand went to her heart as she let out a few breaths from the shock.
“You good?” His voice filled her ears, forcing her eyes up to his for the first time in months.
She almost could not speak as she savored the moment in his arms, she had missed this simple pleasure so much.
“Y-yea, y-yea I’m good. Thanks… that w-was about to be the most embarrassing moment of my career.”
Michael’s hands stayed on her as he helped her get settled back on her feet. They settled on her hips for a moment as they stared at each other, so many months of unspoken words passing between them. She watched him intently as reality seemed to catch up with him and he quickly moved his hands off of her, his fingers going to awkwardly tug at his tuxedo jacket.
Not that it needed any adjustment, he looked perfect.
“I-I didn’t forget you were clumsy as hell,” he joked, easing the nervous tension that seemed to fill the air around them.
Charlotte’s heart swelled a bit. She was not sure if she could count that as a good sign, that they could still joke with each other, but she decided to. It was the small bout of courage she needed to keep going with her plan.
“Good thing I have you to steady me the rest of the way?” She asked quietly, her own attempt to see if they were ok.
She was thankful and let out a small sigh of relief when he held out his arm for her to wrap hers around.
“Always.”
It took the length of the red carpet for the pair to fall back into the familiar patterns Michael had told himself he would resist. Though he had not closed the door yet, he was also set in his resolve to not fall too deeply back in love with her. He was reluctant to admit it but she had broken his heart and he was not keen on letting her close enough to do it twice. So he decided that he was just going to let it be and see if she would come to him.
But once he was in her presence again, it was as if his heart lost all sense of self preservation and sent him dovetailing involuntarily off a cliff into the oasis of her yet again. Every part of her drew him in again, her soft smile, gentleness, humor, her endless charisma with a hint of awkwardness that reminded everyone know she was down to earth, her insanely humble attitude despite being the most talented and beautiful person he had ever laid eyes on, and the way she managed to command a room's attention without trying at all. She was the personification of an enticing and thrilling adventure his soul desperately wanted to be part of. Within mere minutes, she had tied and twisted him back up in her web and he did not even think she noticed or intended to do so.
Though they were seated next to each other at dinner, they could only share random comments and snickers as the program took up most of the night. It was not until the program concluded with the premiere of the Creed trailer that they had a moment to actually speak.
Michael made a beeline toward Charlotte who was waiting for another drink at the bar.
“You made me look pretty good out there,” he offered as he leaned against the bar.
Charlotte threw him a smile as she caught the attention of the bartender.
“Glad I could help. Having you on my arm might’ve upgraded my look a bit too, I guess,” she winked. The bartender handed her a glass of champagne. “Best rum you have on the rocks for him, please.”
Michael masked the look of genuine surprise that she knew rum was his favorite liquor. But he supposed he was not the only observant one.
“So superstar! Ready to be the next cultural phenomenon, Creed?” She jokingly put her small fists up and gave him a fake one-two jab, which he artfully and playfully dodged.
“You saying I’m not already??” He forced a look of playful faux offense on his face causing Charlotte to laugh. Michael couldn’t help the grin that appeared on his face at the sound of her laughter, something he had sorely missed over the last few months. She was a person that laughed with her whole being, it was infectious and lit up the room.
“My bad, my bad. THE Michael B Jordan is already a cultural icon.” She leaned against the bar. The light taps of her nails could not be heard over the music and conversation as they stood together but Michael noticed. She did that all the time when she was nervous or excited, as if the small movement could release some of that energy. “The trailer looked amazing though, seriously. This shit… it’s gonna be a game changer for you.”
“You’re in it too, remember? Gonna be a game changer for both of us. I can feel it.” He inched closer to her as they talked, the soft fabric of his tux brushing lightly against her arm. “If I get six of these movies, you gotta be in every single one.”
Charlotte raised her eyebrow and took a sip of her drink while her other hand went to the corner of his bowtie to gently fix it as it had gotten crooked. Michael watched her as she intently fixed his suit, her eyes intense and focused on her task.
When she was done, her hand fell against the lapel of his tuxedo jacket and rested there on his chest. It was as if she had not even thought about what she was doing.
“You sure about that? Probably get sick of me after three movies,” she joked.
His hand gently grabbed her other hand, which rested next to her drink on the bar, every movement they shared as thoughtless, natural and needed as breathing.
In that moment, she could see in his eyes and feel in his touch everything he said that night that she denied. She could hear every word playing over and over in her head like a movie. Only this time, she only heard him, she didn’t hear Shaun. It was there, clear as day: his love, his adoration, his desire… all directed at her even now after she had pushed him away. It was still there and it was overwhelming. And it still terrified her. But for the first time, Charlotte did not want to run away or hide from it, she wanted to bask in it. She wanted to be loved by him in every way possible.
He held her gaze there for a moment, her breath hiking slightly.
“I don’t see that happenin’.”
Charlotte felt a wave of deja-vu falling over her as his lips started to come closer to hers. However, as quickly as the moment started, it was gone. Something seemed to click in Bakari’s mind and he immediately straightened up and took his hands off her and took a step back from her, a look of frustration and anger painted across his youthful features. He coughed before taking a huge gulp of his drink.
“E-excuse me,” he muttered before disappearing into the crowd.
Payback’s a bitch, Charlotte thought to herself as she realized this was exactly how she left him, bewildered and alone. However, now it was her turn to be persistent. She quickly raced after him out of the ballroom, weaving between drunk directors and actors until she found him sulking away in a quiet hallway.
“Bakari! Stop walking!” She called after him, her stilettos slowing her down but she refused to stop.
Michael only decided to stop because that refrain was so familiar. And despite the petty side of him wanting his feet to keep moving, his common sense had no power of his limbs… only his heart did. And his heart wanted to stop for her because as much as he wanted to deny it, his love for her had not diminished one iota since he saw her last, it had only grown stronger.
She could not stop the surprised look on her face when he actually turned around.
“O-Oh I didn’t think you’d stop,” she whispered more to herself than him, causing him to laugh a bit.
“Isn’t that what you wanted?”
“Y-yea yea, I j-just figured you were too upset to actually listen? But th-this is great. I wasn’t gonna make it much further without falling in these shoes anyway. You know I don’t know why they make me wear these, they’re fucking miserable and not even functional a-” she stopped herself, her lips forming a slight o at his expression. “I’m rambling aren’t I? About something that’s totally irrelevant. You d-don’t care about my shoes.”
If the moment had not been so serious and he had not been so frustrated at himself, he would have laughed. He loved how she rambled and went off on tangents, her awkwardness making her all the more cute and endearing to him.
“W-what’s wrong?” She asked. “D-did I do something?”
He paced back and forth in the hallway. “I just swore I wouldn’t do this shit again. Said I was gonna let you come to me, not put myself out there again for you to push me away. But here I am… falling for you all over again.”
She could hear the frustration in his voice. Her eyes clenched shut as she took a tentative step toward him, her hands wringing together as she spoke.
“W-what if this is me coming to you?” She whispered, her voice as shaky and unsure as she felt.
Michael stopped pacing, worried his ears did not hear her correctly.
“What?”
“I-I don’t b-blame you for wanting to keep me at an arm’s length. I-I hurt you and I’m sorry for that. T-that night you asked me to be honest with you. And I couldn’t and I’m sorry for that too. I-I’m sorry for everything. But the truth is,” she let out a deep breath as she decided to release feelings from a cage buried so deep in her soul, she had only come to terms with them days ago herself. She had never been this vulnerable with a man in her life. Michael was uncharted territory but he was worth it. Her family was right, she could not keep allowing good things to pass her by because she was scared. She could not merely survive day to day, she had to live or she escaped Shaun and a life of pain for nothing.
“I pushed you away because… I was and still am f-fucking terrified,” her last word cracked slightly as her emotions got the better of her. The tightness in her throat felt unbearable as she fought to get that last word out. She noticed his eyes soften slightly as that word landed on his ears. Somehow, that felt like permission to continue, that he was truly willing to listen. And despite how hard it was to share, she was ready to let her guard down and let someone in.
“N-Not of you… but of this a-and what we could be. My last relationship… he d-destroyed me, broke parts of me t-that will never heal, not fully anyway. A-and w-when I finally left him, I worked really hard,” she wiped away a stray tear. “I worked really f-fucking hard to put the pieces back together and, you know, put one foot in front of the other. A-and I vowed never to let someone hurt me like that again because I don’t think I could s-survive it. A-and that w-was fine, I was fine. Until I met you. And you are… everything I could hope for myself a-and everything I don’t believe I d-deserve. And I fell for you a-and I didn’t know how to handle that so e-every instinct told me to run b-before…”
“I could hurt you too,” he finished her sentence, taking a step toward her.
She sniffled and nodded as his hand cupped her cheek, his thumb wiping away a falling tear. She missed his touch, gentle and safe.
Michael felt an odd sense of relief that he had not completely misread their interactions. That she had not pushed him away because she did not want him or because she was playing with him. And he was thankful he had listened to his older and wiser friends and not given up on her so quickly.
Now the anger and frustration he felt bubbling to the surface was no longer directed at the woman before him, but at the nameless man who hurt her. Though her words were intentionally vague, he knew saying that much had been difficult to share. But the words she had chosen felt like physical blows in and of themselves: broken… destroyed. While he wished he did not, his brain immediately considered the worst case scenarios, the mere thought of a man putting his hands on her sending blinding rage through him. But based on her words and actions, he could only gleam that that was the case. He just did not know if he was emotionally prepared to see anymore evidence of that than he had already seen.
“And I j-just… I wish I had something more to give you. I look at you a-and can feel how much y-you care about me. A-and all I f-felt a-and still feel is t-this all consuming shame that this b-brokenness is all I have to offer you. It j-just doesn’t feel like enough,” her voice was barely above a whisper as she finally spoke her truth, a truth she had not voiced to anyone before.
The hallway they stood in was virtually silent as her revelations settled in the air. Her stiletto-shaped nails scratched lightly at her forehead, slightly disturbing the make up her team spent time meticulously perfecting.
“None of it is an excuse. A-and if I’m too late, I understand and I’ll live with it. But t-this is me coming to you. I love you. I just need you to know that.”
She offered him a small but distinct half smile before awkwardly shuffling on her heels. She interpreted his silence as disdain, her long-winded ramblings were too little too late to undo the damage she had done months prior.
“I-I’m gonna go freshen up a-and then head back to the party.”
She forced herself to turn around and start to walk away from him. She had her shot, she blew it. And as she said, she would learn to live with it.
However, her forward momentum was halted by a strong but gentle grip around her wrist. She stopped and turned to find him right behind her. Without missing a moment or breath, he pulled her forward and into his arms. His lips crashed against hers, Charlotte immediately returning it fervently. Her fingers gripped the collar of his tux tightly as if releasing him would mean he would vanish right before her eyes.
His fingers became tangled in her hair as he tasted her. Neither one of them cared that a paparazzi or bystander’s camera could lurk around any corner and create a shrine for this moment for all time. The only thing that mattered was the two of them and that they finally saw eye to eye.
He pulled away and stared into her deep brown eyes. Instantly he knew this moment was real because, for the first time, he did not see fear or a desire to run.
“Whatever you are is enough for me, Els. I told you that I want you to feel safe with me. I want you to feel safe to share with me the pieces of yourself you wear proudly and the ones you’ve hidden cause you think they’re broken. I want to know you, the real you. And whatever she brings is more than enough for me, I promise you that.”
Her eyes gently fell closed as his hand cupped her face, her cheek leaning into his touch. He gently wiped away her falling tears before kissing her on the forehead and pulling her into a hug.
She buried her face into his neck, breathing in his scent. She immediately recognized his favorite cologne that he wore on set. It was not overpowering but refreshing and light against her nose. She instantly felt a relief and peace she had not experienced in years.
“Let’s get out of here, yea?” he offered as he wiped another tear she did not realize was falling. “I got a car, we can go back to my place and grab a drink and talk, aight?”
Charlotte nodded and let out a sigh of relief. “Y-Yea I w-would love that. I hate these things.”
****
“What?”
Charlotte’s lips turned up in a soft smile as she took a sip from the glass, the train of her dress bunched up on the couch in the sitting area of his bedroom.
“I dropped like several bombs on you tonight. All you did on set was ask a million questions and now you’re mute,” she teased before her face turned serious again. “If you have questions, ask ‘em.”
“I got ‘em but I want you to tell me what you want to tell me in your own time. I know shit is hard to share.”
She shook her head. “I already told you the hardest part. The rest is… unpleasant but if we are gonna be anything real, I gotta learn to share all of it.”
“Ok… Tell me about your ex. As much or as little as you want.”
She sat up a little straighter, her head resting on her arm against the pillows of the sofa.
“I was a junior at Juilliard. I met him, Shaun Parker, at a friend’s birthday party. He was a friend of a friend sort of thing. He was a couple years older and worked on Wall Street. He was the exact guy a dumb, insecure 21 year old falls for, you know? The guy from the rom-com that says and does all the right things, perfect gentleman and handsome so you fall head over heels after the first date. He made me feel like no one could ever love me like he did.”
Charlotte leaned back, a dark glint taking over her eyes as she thought back on the worst period of her life.
“A-and then it started. It’s such a slow build, you don’t even realize you’re in trouble until it’s too late. By the time I realized, I was already drowning.” She let out a humorless chuckle. “The first time, h-he came by campus and saw me eating lunch with a cast mate… a guy. We were rehearsing for our spring production. I left with him and when we got to his car, he called me a whore and slammed my head into the side of his car. The next day, after I got back from the doctor, my dorm was filled with roses and he swore he’d never do it again. That lasted maybe a week before he slapped me for offering to pay for dinner at a restaurant. We dated for three years after that.”
She took a huge gulp from her drink. She avoided his eyes, which were filled with anger that his suspicions were correct. His hands curled into fists as he processed her words.
“Tried to leave and break it off a couple of times. But I always went back. And it just got worse and worse and worse. The fear was paralyzing, you try so hard to be perfect, every action measured to exactly what he would want to avoid that next punch, kick, or whatever. But I realized one day that it didn’t matter what I did or how perfect I was, there was nothing I could do or say that would stop it. But it took wayyy too much to get me there,” She paused before offering him a half smile and a shrug. “Hope that doesn’t scare you off.”
“Your past would never scare me off, Els. I’m just sorry… no one deserves that. How bad did it get?”
“Um.. by the end, I was lucky if a day went by when he didn’t hurt me somehow. But the psychological abuse is the stuff that sticks with you honestly. That’s why I could never leave, he always found a way to pull me back in. The last time, he…” Charlotte shook her head as if she could shake the memories out of her brain. She was not ready to go down that road yet. “I just realized I would die if I stayed so I left for good. Never looked back.”
“And moved to LA?” He asked, finally putting the pieces together of why she moved out to the LA area and left Broadway altogether.
“N-not at first, no. I thought I could have it all. That I could j-just like move to another borough and keep m-my life and career and be done with him. Thought that once he knew I was serious, he would leave me alone. You know the saying, ‘the house always wins?’” At his nods, she continued. “Learned the harsh lesson that it applies to more than gambling. We were apart for about three months before he broke into my apartment and almost killed me. The fact that I’m even sitting here talking to you is a fluke.” She grimaced and kept her eyes focused on her hands before continuing. “A-and then I ran. Moved to LA with no warning, burned many a bridge in the theater world by disappearing, stayed at my brother’s for a few months before I got my first gig and got back on my feet.”
“That’s not running,” he offered quietly.
She shook her head. “It certainly felt like it. I loved my life in New York… my career, my friends. The community I built. And he just took all of it away.”
“Where he at?”
She shrugged, “No idea. Probably still in New York? But I completely scrubbed Shaun and everyone mutual friend we had from my life after I left so I wouldn’t know. And I don't want to… if he isn't looking for me, I ain't gonna look for him.”
“Have you been back to New York since?”
She nodded. “My first time back was actually before we filmed Creed. Filmed a small role for a show there for about a month.   Literally went to set and came right back home every day, changed my hotel every week. Didn’t tell anyone and probably only saw one or two friends the entire time I was there. I mean, I know New York is huge but I couldn’t help but look over my shoulder every five seconds, you know? But that’s the bed I made, I guess.” She fiddled with the detailing on her dress for a moment. “What else?”
“How are you?”
Her heart fluttered lightly at the sincerity in his voice, the genuine concern she heard. “No one really ever asks me that. They just assume I'm perfectly fine because the bruises have healed or that I'm still broken. But… Um… I’m ok. Made a lot of progress, basically paid for my therapist’s summer home.” She chuckled. “But I really prioritized getting back to me before I got back into work. Back into my hobbies, songwriting and performing, got into running like I told you before… just like finding my voice and personhood again? Those things you kinda lose in that situation. Still learning to trust my gut again, how to accept health love," she motioned toward him. "It’s been a journey but I think I found a better version of myself than before him. So that’s something I guess.”
“Cheers to that,” he raised his glass to her. “So last question.”
“The ever inquisitive Bakari,” she smiled before nodding. “Ask away.”
“You want to give us a real shot? We can take it as slow as you want, ain’t no rush. I want this to go at your pace so I can earn your trust. I want you to be comfortable with me.”
Words failed her as she listened to him. She knew his words to be true, she did not know why but she trusted him already. He already was the safe space she needed and had already earned her trust.
“I already do… trust you,” she whispered as she leaned in to kiss him.
The pair kissed hungrily, their sweet moment turning into hungry desire with in seconds. Charlotte forgot what it felt like to lust until she met Bakari, to yearn for someone’s touch and presence, to desire them as you desire air or sustenance. But she felt all of that and more, driving her to finally let her guard down in more ways than one.
She was shocked at how much she shared with him, how readily he accepted it and her without hesitation, how it did not alter his thoughts or feelings about her. All those feelings she had been keeping at bay were finally free as her walls fell and she forgot how good it felt… to love and be loved, to desire and be desired in return.
Before she knew it, she was on her back, her fingers undoing the buttons of his crisp white shirt, his perfectly-sculpted chest coming into view. She let out a needy moan as his lips touched a sensitive spot on her neck, gently sucking on her skin. Everywhere his hands or lips touched left a spark of heat, a trail of flames lighting his path across her body. She felt overcome with pleasure and need and knew he felt it too as she felt his hardening member against her thigh. She had not expected for their relationship to progress quite this quickly but neither of them had expected to fall in love with each other so she supposed this just the foundation of their relationship: the unexpected. And she would not dare complain.
However, she was surprised when his hands wrapped around hers to stop her as she went to take off his pants.
Her face was flushed and her breaths sounded like pants as she stared at him, confused.
“What?” She asked softly.
“I want you,” he assured her. “So fucking bad… but I want to give you the experience you deserve. Wine you, dine you and have a night that’s all about us -”
“Then break my back?” She teased.
He rolled his eyes and snickered, “Something like that. I just don’t want you to regret anything with me.”
Her forehead rested on his as she nodded painfully, her whole body flustered and annoyed at the loss of what she imagined would be mind-blowing pleasure. And though it was hard not to give into temptation, she knew he was right. She had overcome many hurdles tonight, sex was one to unpack on another day.
He smirked at the disappointed look on her face, “Don’t worry, baby girl. It’ll be worth the wait.”
He kissed her on the lips again before pushing himself off of her, a cold shower in the not-so-distant future for him.
Charlotte sat up and watched as he went to pour both of them another drink from the bottle he brought upstairs.
He settled back down on the couch, his hand resting gently on her thigh through the slit of her dress. The pair fell into effortless conversation, moving away from Charlotte’s past to other topics. The pair did not take their eyes off of each other as they laughed, joked, and swapped stories about their acting careers and families, neither of them wanting the night to end.
By the time Michael glanced at his watch again, he realized it was almost 3 am, Charlotte’s soft yawns getting more and more frequent as they talked.
“Aight,” he rubbed her thigh, noticing the signs of her about to fall asleep from their many movie nights while filming. “You gotta go to sleep, baby girl. Take my bed,” he gestured.
“Nah, I’m not gonna kick you outta your room in your house, Bakari. I’ll call a cab or something,” she yawned and stretched and stood up.
He shook his head. “Definitely not. Please, just knock out in there and I’ll sleep in the guest room. I'll grab you a t-shirt and let you have some privacy. And then I'll call you a car in the morning."
Charlotte was so physically and emotionally tired that she decided not to argue and acquiesced quickly.
“Thanks, I appreciate it.”
She followed him into the room as he grabbed a t-shirt out of his dresser and put it on the bed for her.
"I'll grab you a hanger 'n garment bag for the dress."
“Could you…?” she gestured at the gown.
She stood and turned away from him, sliding her long hair to the side to reveal the zipper of her dress.
He kept his eyes trained on her back to avoid staring at her perfect ass. Despite his best efforts, he could not help but sneak a peak, her body was one worth feasting on. He made quick work of unzipping her dress and helping her slid it down, revealing perfectly smooth skin underneath.
He undid the clasp of her her bra too, at her signal, immediately stepping back toward the door to take himself out of a danger zone. He couldn’t take her eyes off of her. However, he was quickly drawn out of his adoration when his eyes spotted scars littering her back and one on the left side of her stomach that resembled a burn as she turned slightly to grab his shirt and slid it on.
His eyes darkened as he took the scars in, knowing exactly where and who they came from.
“You good?” He forced out, putting his attention on something else to avoid focusing on the story behind each scar.
“Yea… thanks, Bakari, seriously.” She climbed into bed and settled as he turned to walk to the couch.
However, her voice stopped him.
“Actually… will you stay? Plenty of room for both of us,” she gestured to the empty spot next to her.
Michael knew it was not the best idea given how hard it was to say no earlier. However, at her next statement, he lost any hesitation he may have had.
“I want you here with me, please?”
He nodded and slid his tux pants off, leaving them in a heap on the floor. He got on his side of the bed and she immediately snuggled up next to him. He placed a soft kiss on her head before she dozed off on his chest, Charlotte falling asleep faster than she had in years in the arms of the man she loved.

A/N: I told yall there were gonna be more reasons to hate Shaun smh but this is our last chapter where he gets mentioned explicitly for a while lol But Els & Bakari are finally on the same page - woohoo! How do you think her past is gonna impact them as they try to make a relationship work? Also idk how long this series is gonna be lol but this will tell a specific story about a portion of their relationship and I'll use one-shots to build it out beyond this section of their relationship.

Partner in Crime
Part 01 | Part 02
Pairing: Javier Peña x female reader
Summary: One of the things between you and your dream career as an agent is Javier Peña.
Author’s Note: English is not my first language! Excuse me if there any mistake, I hope y'all can understand what I’m saying.
I barely sleep when it comes the day of the result. I’m super anxious waiting for a call, hoping I’ll get one. But the day pass by and nothing. I start to convince myself that I didn’t get it.
Until it becomes truth. It’s night and I didn’t get any call or text or anything. I’m disappointed. “What am I gonna do now?” “What did I do wrong?”. I know I won’t be able to sleep this night so I go to a bar to drink my ass off.
So it goes, my dream, my whole life planned is gone. I get off the bar, drunk and happy I don’t have Peña’s phone or I might just have sent some stupid text, and go to my apartment.
Two days pass by when I get a call, I say to myself “it can’t be”, but I still have some hope, even if it’s impossible.
I pick up my phone to answer it and get a bit shocked when I hear Javier’s voice saying my name on the other side.
— Peña? — I say, confused.
— Yes. Listen, is everything okay? I have something to tell you.
— Yeah, fine. What’s going on?
— Uhm… you got it.
— What? — I am more surprised now.
— You got it. You’re gonna be my partner.
— What? — I say again trying to understand if it’s a joke or some kind of dream.
— We need you to come here tomorrow, okay?
— Wait, how is that possible? You should have called two days ago.
— Look, you are the one who got it, okay? That’s all I have to say right now. Bye.
He hangs up the phone and I’m… I don’t even know what I’m feeling. “What the fuck was that?”. I let myself take that news and be happy. After being miserable, I can feel some joy now, even if it means having to work with Javier Peña.
The next day, I’m ready to go. Feeling good and confident. Still a bit confused, but nevermind.
I get to the department building and I’m received by the same woman of the day of the test. She leads me into a small room this time, that looks like a meeting room with a big desk on the center and fancy chairs around it.
I wait there wondering what would I do if this was some kind of joke. In no time, a couple of men, Emily and Peña show up and I get up. I greet them and they do the same with smiling on their faces, except for Peña.
— Congratulations, young lady. — says one of the men. — We are here for the paper work and make it official.
That is followed by some more explanation and I need to sign some papers. When it’s done, Emily says:
— Now Peña will show you the rest. Welcome.
They leave the room, leaving me with Peña, which still hasn’t smiled.
— Come with me. — he gets up and I follow him.
We pass through a couple more rooms like that one and get to an elevator. He presses the button to go up and we wait. When it opens the door, we get in and there is something in the air that makes me nervous around him, so I say:
— Still can’t believe it. How the hell it happened?
— You passed the tests. — he says.
— No, but why did it take longer for you guys to call me?
The door opens and he goes leading the way and I still don’t get the answer. I follow him through a typical department room: desks everywhere and people talking and messing around on the computer. Until he gets into a room with two desks.
— You are there. — he points to the left desk. — make yourself comfortable and I’ll be back in a minute. Do you want some coffee?
— Not right now, thanks.
— Okay, you can get one in the kitchen at the end of the corridor. — he says and leaves.
I do what he says and myself comfortable. Seems a good place to work. I put a pen and a notepad I brought on the desk and wait.
When he comes back, there’s a folder on his hands that he delivers to me.
— Let’s get to work?
— Absolutely.
— This is the file from a case I was working on. I need you to review it. — he says and goes to his desk.
— That’s it? — I wonder.
— What? You thought you would come here and be 007?
— No. — I say trying to not sound disappointed.
I get to it and when I’m done he gives me like a hundred of files just like that one.
— Seriously? — I laugh.
— Yes. I need to know you first before I trust you with a real case.
— You know me.
— All I know is who you used to be. You might as well still be that kind of person.
“Damn, he’s right”. I think.
— What about the tests?
He just turns away and goes to work.
So do I.

2 - 74 Bordering on Madness and Murder
I'm working on my group pic it's so bad
I hate hate hate when people make gross comments on my drawings that make me look like a perv i don't even wanna draw if people are like this 😭
Tumblr media
^ My prediction of MOTLE from a while ago as opposed to what it actually is
DON'T READ THE EPISODES WITHOUT READING THE BOOKS!!
President White leads Irratino to the border in the outlands, where the war resides. To signify the mood, the clouds cover up the sun and a fog lowers down. Irratino’s heart races, and menacing silhouettes linger. The sight of a human shoved head first into a cannon is… so stupid that it kind of kills the mood.
Drakonian natives Sergeant Gunmetal and Governor Lead (in the flesh!) creep forward to corner the G.O.A.T, as well as veterans Admiral Navy and General Coffee. They’ve settled down so much nowadays, it’s hard to believe they were ever in battle.
GUNMETAL: It’s time to die, isn’t it? Trespasser. IRRATINO: No… no! President White led me here… I’m here for Logico! ADMIRAL: Oh… Logico… he’s so cold and alone… COFFEE: That’s quite true, but you see there is also a bit of a problem we must deal with first.  GUNMETAL: If there’s no one to shoot, I have no reason to be here.
He returns to his guard post. Slowly.
Irratino approaches a giant damaged wall, used to block enemies (...obviously).
COFFEE: I wouldn’t go near that wall if I were you! It’s extremely poorly built. It could fall on your head at any second.
Regardless, Navy is trying to jump over it (failing miserably) and smacking it with his sword.
IRRATINO: You really are an admiral? NAVY: Yes… I commanded battleships. I was the only one of my troop who survived… IRRATINO: …OH.
When Gunmetal reaches his post, he sees that he has to traverse stairs, and groans in defeat.
IRRATINO: Uh… need help?
The soldier squeaks and tries to hide behind a cup of coffee!
IRRATINO: …?? GUNMETAL: I… get any closer and I’ll shoot! [waves his arms]
Irratino is endeared by the guy, and sits down in front of him.
GUNMETAL: What do you want! What do you want! IRRATINO: There’s gotta be a way for you to get up those stairs.
He has an idea, but he has to do something dangerous. Luckily, that’s never an issue for Irratino.
So he approaches Governor Lead in his cave. The man is a HUGE bear-like beast, with beefy arms and giant claws, gnawing on bones. Is he a person, or a monster??
But seeing Irratino, he stares.
LEAD: What… do you want. IRRATINO: I just… need your help. LEAD: I never help people. IRRATINO: …Please? LEAD: Why do you think saying ‘please’ will make me change my mind. IRRATINO: Can you help dig up a lot of dirt? LEAD: …No.
Irratino sighs. There goes that plan. It hurts him, but he has to accept that he can’t help everyone. The person he can help is Logico. He ignites 74 occult candles, filling the air with smoke and making it near-impossible to breathe. And when he slaps the ground, he concludes that the murderer was General Coffee.
COFFEE: We needed to open up a new front in the war, and this man was standing idly nearby. I did what I had to do, but, I’m not going to gloat about it. In fact, here - you can have some official documentation assuring you it was a mistake of the war! Though one, of course, I will not take any kind of responsibility for restituting. After all, you can’t undo a murder!
Irratino just remembered that Coffee was just at that conspiracy convention, and wonders why he’s here on war duty all of a sudden. Maybe it’s just a cover-up.
WHITE: IRRATINO! THIS way.
Irratino stumbles and follows again.
The end!
This episode only happened because tino went the wrong way help
slowly but surely, he is overcoming his issues with distraction and focusing on his real goal!

Fixing Tracy -- Listening
TWs in the tags
Masterlist
"Please, if you really love me, let me go home!”
"I can't do that, dear, that place was bad for you."
“You never listen to me!” Tracy sobs. “You only hear what you want to hear! I hate this, I want to go home, I want you to believe me instead of twisting everything I say!”
Molly’s eyes widen and she tilts her head. “I… can see how it would be frustrating to have me not do what you ask me to, even if you don’t actually want what you’re asking for.”
Tracy wails. She’s so close, so so close, but Molly’ll never get it. Tracy’s never getting out of here.
Molly sets a hand on Tracy’s cheek and gently guides her so that she can stare into her eyes.
“Maybe… maybe you really don’t want to be here.” Molly tears up. “I can— what do you want? More games? Nicer clothes? A pet? A friend? I’ll bring you anything you want, anything at all. I just want you to be happy."
“I want to go home!”
“What do you miss about ‘home’? I can give it to you!”
“I want to never see you again! I want to be free!”
“Take some deep breaths. You’re going to be okay. Why do you think you’re not free? You have no stressors, you’re completely free from needing to have a job and take care of yourself. What can I do to make you feel free?”
“I don’t want to be free from those things! I want to be free from you!”
“I know it must be scary to have things be so different from how you’re used to. Of course some small part of you wants to go back to what’s familiar, even if you were miserable. That’s very normal. But I can’t let you go back to that, no matter how much I hate to see you cry. I’m sorry. You’ll understand someday. I am never, ever letting you go, so you don't have to stress about convincing me to, okay?"
Tracy sobs. “I hate you!”
“I know, dear. I love you very much, and I will no matter how much you lash out. I’ll always be here for you, no matter what.”
Tracy screams in frustration and pounds her fist against the couch. This isn’t going to work. She decides to try a new tactic. “Imagine that someone kidnapped you and locked you up, and wouldn’t even believe you when you said you wanted to go home, how would that make you feel??"
“That would be very frustrating. Dear, I know it’s frustrating, and I’m so sorry it has to be like this, but this is the only way to avoid you getting hurt.”
“I’m hurt! I’m scared and angry and powerless, I’m miserable here! Why won’t you let me be miserable somewhere that I want to be!?”
“This is the way to avoid the most hurt.” Molly amends. “As much as this sucks, it would be worse out there. I hate that you’re miserable here, but… it’ll get better. Once you've accepted you're never going back to your old life and stop fighting it'll be a lot nicer, but there's no rush. Take as long as you need. It’ll get better, I promise. I know you don’t trust me, so that’s not very comforting… What can I do to make you feel better?”
Tracy almost screams at Molly to leave, but then something occurs to her. Molly said she'd give her anything she wanted, so maybe... “I want to go outside. Not home, just outside.”
Molly couldn’t deny that and still feel like she was in the right, right? She’ll have to either let Tracy outside or admit that she doesn't have Tracy's best interests at heart.
Tracy expects Molly to stumble, trying to figure out a reason why Tracy can't go outside, but Molly smiles warmly. “See, that I can do! Oh, I’ll prepare us a lovely picnic for tomorrow, how does that sound?”
“…good.”
Molly’s eyes sparkle. “It’s going to be so much fun! Get some rest so you aren’t tired during the picnic. I assume you haven’t changed your mind about wanting me upstairs tonight?”
Tracy nods.
Molly doesn't seem worried about Tracy potentially escaping at all, so she must have a way to stop her from leaving when they're outside. Still, maybe Tracy could get away? She would have fewer locked doors between her and freedom, at least.
“Alright, don’t hesitate to call me if you need anything at all.” Molly grabs her bag of restraints and practically skips over to the basement door. She takes out her key and unlocks it, then goes up the stairs, pulling it shut and locking it behind her.
Tracy should’ve asked to leave the basement without asking to go home sooner. It didn’t even occur to her, but Molly always turned her down by saying she can’t take Tracy home or let her escape, not that she has to stay in the basement specifically. It’s obvious in hindsight that this should’ve been one of her first escape strategies. Tracy’s such a lazy idiot, she probably knew subconsciously that she could try that, but wanted to lay around playing video games instead of actually escaping. She’s a bad big sister, a bad person, a useless, lazy, stupid animal.
Tracy grabs a pillow and screams into it.

in which james takes a sick day
“i can’t believe you chose today of all days to get sick, prongs.” sirius complained, laying sideways across his bed, with quite a bit of his legs dangling off.
“it’s not like i chose to be sick.” james gave a pointed stare at sirius before sitting up on his own bed, tucked neatly under the covers, bringing his elbow to his mouth as he coughed into it.
“james, why don’t you go to madam pomfrey’s?” your brow furrows. he certainly didn’t look good— pale, with dark circles under his eyes from a restless night of coughing.
“because she’ll keep me there forever. i can’t stay there, i’ve got quidditch practice tomorrow that she won’t let me attend and we have pranks to execute!” james whined, laying back down. “i just need you lot to steal some sort of coughing remedy, that’s all.”
“we had pranks to execute.” remus corrected.
“yeah, today was going to go in the history books!” sirius groaned. “and now we’re stuck!”
“can’t we just go?” peter looked around confusedly, sitting at the edge of james’ bed and fiddling with his new sneakoscope, which had been spinning all day, much to his disappointment. remus reckoned it broken, but peter was determined to fix it (not that he knew how).
“absolutely not!” sirius looked appalled at the idea. “we can’t just leave him behind, wormtail, why on earth would you suggest that?”
“yeah, c’mon, wormy,” james coughed. “it’s no fun without all of us.”
“maybe wormtail.” sirius sniggered. james laughed, nearly turning into a cough; peter chuckled awkwardly. remus rolled his eyes.
“ha ha.” you roll your eyes, exchanging glances with remus. “well, are we getting the remedy or not?”
“let’s just use episkey!” peter suggested, waving his wand haphazardly about.
“that only works for wounds that broke the skin.” remus shook his head. “we need a potion.”
“then there’s no need to steal from madam pomfrey.” you realized suddenly. “slughorn! he can make us one!”
“would he do that for us?” peter looked around. you grin, and look directly at sirius, who abruptly frowned, and then sat up.
“absolutely not.”
“it’s james’ best shot at getting better!” you protest.
“he’d do it if it were you asking.” remus agreed. “and then james would get better quickly.” sirius hesitated. this had gotten his attention. although he despised most anything that had anything to do with the fact that he was a black, he was loyal to a fault, and would do most anything for his mates.
“…i’m not going alone.” sirius looked around, eyes narrowing. sirius knew that remus knew just how to push his buttons, and he wasn’t happy about it. “you lot are coming with me.”
“emotional support?” you grin.
“call it what you like.” sirius waved his hand dismissively. “but you’re all coming.”
“and leave me alone?” james protested. “i think not!”
“fine. wormtail, stay with prongs, you can listen to all his whining—“
“hey!”
“—and we’ll get that damned potion.” sirius stood up.
“okay.” peter agreed, happy for any excuse to hang out with james.
“come on, then.” sirius sighed, exiting the room, leaving you and remus to follow.
“i hate professor slughorn,” sirius griped as the three of you walked. “he’s always going on about how i’m of the prestigious house of black and how i look just like my mother— does he even realizing how insulting that is? to look like my mother?”
“with that expression, you certainly do.” remus remarked. one of his eyebrows quirked up, and his lips nearly formed a smirk.
“rude, moony. rude.” sirius deadpanned.
regardless, you and the two boys did indeed get the potion from professor slughorn, and you did indeed heal james, thus teaching the five of you a valuable lesson.
that was a lie. no lessons are learned with the marauders. in fact, a few days later, peter came down with that same cough.
“what do you mean, you’re sick?” james demanded. “it’s prank day!”
“professor mcgonagall told me to go to madam pomfrey’s.” peter said weakly, cheeks flushed as he lay in bed, quite miserable, with yourself and the others huddled around him.
“absolutely not! the only time we go to that old bat’s office is after a full moon for moony!” james declared. “anything else is ridiculous! she’ll keep us there forever until no one escapes!”
“prongs, that is not true in the slightest.”
“not now, moony, we have a potion to nick.”

It's summer in Hell's kitchen reader suns herself on Matt's roof and falls asleep, when Matt comes home she has a big sunburn
Love this idea
———
After coming home to an empty apartment, Matt was confused to say the least. You had informed him that you would be home all day, so he had left work early to surprise you.
Tuning out all of the noises of the city, the man closed his unseeing eyes and focused on trying to find his third favorite sound in the world, your heartbeat. Only after your voice and laughter, of course.
When he was able to locate it, he opened his eyes and allowed his senses to lead him to where you were, up on the roof.
It was the hottest day that Hells Kitchen had seen in a while, so he didn’t know what exactly you were planning on doing up there instead of in the air conditioned building.
“Honey?” He called as he opened the door leading up into the roof, “I’m home.”
It was only then as he feet lead him toward where you were that he realized the steady and slow beating of your heart indicated that you were in fact asleep.
A smile tugged on his lips as he realized you were laying spread out on a lounge chair with a book discarded at your side, clearly having fallen asleep while trying to read out in the fresh air.
He crouched down to your level and placed a tender kiss on the crown of your head, “Honey,” He coaxed you out of your sleep gently, “I got home early.”
You hummed in happy contentment before you even opened your eyes at your husbands voice, “Matty,” You sighed, reaching out a hand to hopefully find the side of his face.
He guided your outstretched arm so that you could in fact cup his cheek before you slowly peeled your eyes open, squinting at the sudden brightness.
“Morning, sunshine,” He teased gently with a small smirk.
“You’re home early?” You asked, slowly stretching out your limbs.
“Indeed I am,” He said playfully, hand moving up to swipe a lone piece of hair out of your face, only to freeze at how hot to the touch your skin was.
You looked up at the man with furrowed eyebrows, “What’s wrong, Matty?”
“You put on sunscreen, didn’t you, honey?” He asked, voice laced with worry.
A sheepish look overcame your features as you blinked up at him, “I may have forgotten… why?”
He trailed a hand down your face, the heat not letting up at any part, “Because you have a massive sunburn all over that pretty face of yours.”
You gasped, shooting upright as you grasped at your face, realizing that he was in fact right, “Oh, no!” You whined, “I have work tomorrow! I can’t go in like this!”
Matt stood up, covering his mouth discreetly so that you wouldn’t see him chuckle to himself, failing miserably.
“Wipe that smirk off your face, Matthew!” You complained, “This isn’t funny!”
Letting out some last quiet chuckles, he held his hand out for you to take to help you stand up, “You’re right, it’s not, I’m sorry.” He apologized, “Let’s go get you some lotion and see if that will clear it up.”
You groaned, throwing your face into his shoulder, “I can’t believe this happened!”
He laughed, placing a kiss of your forehead as you walked arm and arm back into the apartment, “Your coworkers will probably think you were just visiting the sun,”
“Not funny, Matthew!”
